A birthday treat that was spoilt ... Very disapointing from start to finish..., Room not ready at 3pm , no bath in room as requested ... dirty pool and spa area outside covered in cigarette butts and dirty towels overflowing in changing area .No restaurant open only the bar area , grounds poorly maintained and where was reception located ??? Having stayed in Raddisson Hotels many times this was not a 4 star experience .. Avoid as there are far better places to stay in the area ...

Worst spa day ever!!!! Worst spa experience of my life. Dirty facilities, unhelpful staff, half the equipment not working. Mould around the pool & what looks like a pile of moss that staff had picked out pool. No slippers available ( even tho they were included in price) this ment walking on dirty floors bear foot.

A good stay but needs some minor improvements My partner and I were visiting a friend in Shrewsbury and I thought the cost of a stay at the Albrighton including breakfast for Radisson members was a good deal. The room was not in the main building so we had to go out the main building past the garden to get to the room (I take if these days not many hotels show you to your room). The room was a bit basic but pleasant enough, the bathroom had both a bath and a good sized walk in shower, which was good. They left, still water, tea, coffee, herbal teas and also a mini can of diet coke and coke in the room, as well as 2 hot chocolate satchets and some milk satchets, I thought that this was a good selection of drinks in the room. There was only one biscoff biscuit though, so for a double occupancy, 2 would have been better. They had left a destress roll on as a gift for guests, and also one satchet of bath salts. The shower gels and shampoos were the big ones that were attached to the walls and very strong smelling, and not to my scent preference. I prefer a hotel that does minis that you can take home because that's part of the usual hotel experience. The bed was comfortable and had a giant headboard and the sheets were super comfy, although we were given 2 pillows each they were a bit flat, so I could have done with another pillow but there weren't any extra pillows in the room. I used the spa facilities while I was there, I was not expecting to have to pay £1 for a locker so I had to walk back to the reception desk, they must get it a lot as the receptionist just handed me £1. I have never been to a spa hotel where you have to pay for a locker. The pool was a bit smaller than I am used to at other spa hotels, it was also quite shallow. The distance between the top and second step to get into the pool was quite far and made getting in and out difficult, I am 5ft 10 and usually don't have an issue but I feel they need better steps. There was a child that was dive bombing from the steps into the pool, which ok he was having fun but I did not think it was safe. The water temperature of the pool was fine and not as cold as some hotels have their pools. There were quite a few thermal suites, so I went in one of the steam rooms, I found that this was not very hot and steamy at all, so they would benefit from turning up the temperature a bit. I did not get to use the jaccuzzi because this had been occupied by two women that were talking all the time I was in the pool and steam room, and afterwards. The towel I was given was very small and not a proper bath sheet and I wasn't offered any flip flops but I had bought my own so that wasn't so much of an issue. As far as I could see there was no way to exit the spa that meant not going through the lounge, which when I was looking wet and dishevelled wasn't great. The green exit button from the spa was annoying and not sure why you need a button to exit the door. My partner and i decided to have a drink at the bar, the passionfruit martini I had was delicious. We went to an event and came back, and as the bar was 24/7 we thought we would order a drink, there was no staff on at the bar and we had to wait for a female staff member to arrive, but she said they were not doing cocktails so it was only what was on draft or bottle. We decided to have a pint each and sat in the lounge area which was nice enough. The room was large and spacious and other than needing an extra pillow, the bed was comfy and we slept soundly. There was a bit of bird noise in the morning because there is a large pond in the grounds. Breakfast was help yourself but overall was good, I liked the sausages and the eggs were cooked well, the black pudding was a bit on the dry side and there were no hash browns. They had a good selection of juices and drinks, and had some small pastries on offer as well. At check out, I thought the staff member was very polite and friendly, and professional. The £50 holding fee took over the weekend to be removed but it was removed. All in all we enjoyed our stay and thought it was good value, and we stay here again. I do think they need to change the lockers so they are free, have bigger proper bath towels for the pool, sort out the pool steps so they aren't so steep, and monitor the pool. Some extra pillows in the bedroom would also be good.

Dissapointing and Unwelcoming I was gifted a day pass for the spa at Albrighton hall and was looking forward to it particularly as I was considering a membership. I phoned a number of times to book and to enquire about what was actually included, despite leaving answer phone messages noone got back to me. Eventually i called main reception and they tried to put me through to the spa futile as I had tried this manty times. Eventually after calling back again, I was advised to email, which I did and I was told to just turn up. I enquired about the availability of robes and towels, and was told I could hire these at a cost of £10 and £2 respectively. I was pretty shocked to find that towels were not included, I have never experienced that anywhere else. My husband and I arrived, and we were greeted by a young man, he took our voucher and I asked if we could have a towel, I was willing to pay the £2, he seemed to find this a problem and then gave me 2 towels and said “just take them". He pointed to the gym and the coffee machine and then indicated where to go to the changing rooms. No information was given about lockers, or anything else, just left to our own devices. The actual pool was nice and warm, and the steam and sauna were pleasant. However, the lounging area around the pool was very cold and so relaxing for any length of time was not really an option. We stayed for an hour and then left. I was a member here around 35 years ago, and I don’t think the pool area has changed at all. It is very tired. I accept that perhaps the cost of a day pass is very reasonable but please don't buy it as a gift as it is really not a 'spa day'. Overall, we found the experience very disappointingfrom beggining to end, unwelcoming and pretty basic. A towel is after all surely a minimum requirement!!
