Last minute booking after our ferry service from Hunter’s Quay to Gourock was suspended due to bad weather. My disabled husband and I booked into the Argyll Hotel, at very short notice, after our ferry service home from Hunter’s Quay to Gourock was cancelled due to bad weather. The staff were very friendly and helpful, going the extra mile for us to accommodate my husband who has Parkinson’s Disease. Our room, with breakfast, was very reasonably priced, and was warm, cozy and clean. It’s a very old hotel, so not perfect, but beautiful views across the Clyde, comfy bedroom, and a very good breakfast! Initially, I was a bit unsure about having to stay there, but can honestly say, I was very pleasantly surprised!!

We'll be back We love Dunoon and the Argyll is perfectly situated for anywhere you want to go. It's comfortable, the staff are lovely, only thing I wasn't keen on was the restaurant, food was ok, every time the door opened it was freezing, it wasn't bad, just average, breakfast was great and again, the staff were lovely, some would say the hotel is dated but I like the old fashionedness of it, part of the reason we go there

Positive thinking required. Not the best experience for a land mark hotel in the center of town. Small room high step up to shower. Had a strange aroma within room that was not pleasant. Staff friendly well those who want to work.
