Groupon’s Guide to Kent

Proudly dubbed the garden of England, Kent is more than merely the best place to appreciate manicured hedges and try delicious fresh produce. The region holds many of the country's precious ancient architectural jewels: from formidable castles to flamboyant Gothic churches, there is a lot to discover for all history buffs. If zipping over to the village idyll of Eynsford, travellers enthused by archaeology should be sure to stop off at the Lullingstone Roman Villa which boasts some of the most excellently preserved remains in the UK. Those who love the intricacies of Gothic vaults and stained-glass windows won't forget to visit the magnificent Canterbury Cathedral.

The elegant expanse of the Knole House estate allures visitors with its lofty manor house, herds of deer, and literary ties to such celebrated writers as Virginia Woolf. Over 300 years of military history may be uncovered at the Royal Engineers Museum, which plays host to an illuminating collection of weapons, vehicles, and uniforms from a variety of cultures.

Dogs in bedrooms a barking Had a last minute spa overnight break here in May and unfortunately it didn’t live up to expectations. The massage was really lovely and the food in the evening and breakfast was top notch, the thing that has marked this review down is the noisy rooms that we encountered. The room was clean and comfortable (although the pillows were terrible) but the soundproofing was zero. We could hear the people next door sneezing ! The main issue for me however was the fact that they had a dog in the room next door to us, which is not an issue however when the dog starts barking at 4 and 6am it becomes one. My tip to the hotel would be keep the rooms for dogs separately away from those ware there on a relaxing spa break!

Broken toilet flush button We stayed two nights, the first morning our toilet flush button was broken. We reported this to reception in the morning and we were told this would be looked at. Late afternoon just after our massages/spa treatments we checked with reception to see if this has been looked at. We were told we would need to change rooms and that they will have to upgrade us, still no apologies for the inconvenience. I said I have just had a massage but will go and get all the bags (our room was top floor and a long walk to the door. My mum was in reception having just had her nails painted which had already smudged. I took a few trips upstairs to get all of our bags. I then went to reception for our room key. They had told us it was an upgrade, however the room was the same as before, minus a chair. We both felt abit deflated as it was meant to be a relaxing stay.. I understand that things sometimes can’t be helped and I would have left a more positive review had I of been told sorry, or felt like they cared. When we checked out they asked how our stay was to which I said ok apart from the room change. They just said oh yes. Still no sorry? Just felt abit strange and odd.

A truly enchanting experience at Asford Hotel The stay in experience at Asford Hotel was just fantastic although we only stayed for a day. The support staff had made our stay a truly memorable one as tended to our every needs. The facilities were so good combined with great hospitality. It truly a nice break from the daily hustle and bustle. The surrounding scenery at this hotel was just breathtaking. To summarise we had a great family vacation. I would very strongly recommend Asford Hotel to all holiday guest looking for a similar experience.

Brilliant experience for the super cheap cost! My sister and I went for a spa overnight break at this hotel. We got a great deal on spa breaks for sub £100 pp and was absolutly brilliant for that cost! A particular shout out to the staff in the main reception (there was 1 man inparticluar who was brilliant and so accomodating) and Elena in the restaurant she looked after us so well and was so friendly and chatty despite being soooo busy. The food in the restuarant was good quality and reasonable prices. The rooms are spacious and comfortable slightly outdated but no issues at all. The spa area is small and there was kids swimming lessons with a tiny jaczzi but again no issues for me and my sister we were able to have a fab time regardless. The foyee of the hotel is super smart and renovated and looks absolutly fab and premium. We had lunch in the main reception area at the bar and the bar food was also delicious and reasonably priced. The breakfast and massage in the morning was also brilliant and included in the price. Note the spa break price of £114 includes breakfast, overnight hotel room, 50 minute massage and dinner! :) If you do not want to part with too much money and want a spa overnight break it is highly recommended and well worth the money paid :) Thank you Ashford International.
