First Class Hotel What a wonderful Hotel. When we arrived Fasih Hassan the Reception Manager upgraded us as my wife is having Chemo and could not do stairs. We were in room 007 with a great view over the grounds. All the staff were extreamly pleasent and helpful. The breakfast choise was good and had allwe could need. we stayed two nights as we were attending a Funeral and the refreshments were helt at the same hotel. Nothing was too much for the staff. Rooms were a little tiered and in need of a refresh otherwise all good. we woulddefinitly stay there again.

Not great in terms of food This hotel promised so much. Beautiful location, stunning building from the outside and our deluxe room was OK but nothing that screamed out DeLuxe. We are here now and decided to go to dinner in the restaurant as it was 8.30pm already. The dining room was lovely, service from the staff was excellent. The rosemary bread and olives brought to the table were excellent. However, it was here that the excellence fell way short of a standard you would expect at a lower rated hotel. We ordered Pil Pil Prawns to start, at a considerable price tag along with Lamb Shoulder Shepherds Pie with tenderstem broccoli. The prawns arrived, and we could not believe our eyes.....there were 3 small prawns on two small pieces of toasted baguette slices with pil pil sauce in a pouring vessel that would be enough to flood the plate. The three sad prawns were considered to be a starter and im afraid I could not disagree more, barely an appetiser at best. We hoped the Lamb Shoulder Shepherds Pie was going to make amends. Sadly not.....we recieved a bowl with a cement hard burnt top on it. We had to chisel into it to find no mash potato as described. The staff did take it away at our request.....and we had to settle for a burger and risotto. The sad part is that this was supposed to be a special occasion. My advice....the hotel is beautiful and full of character ad charm, however the food disappoints but has so much potential to really excel and deliver, with a little common sense., realistic description and less profiteering

Poor service, under staffed, badly managed Visited for dinner with some great friends. Effectively the place was rammed with two large parties, one was a wedding. Lots of very drunken and loud groups. They clearly did not plan properly for these events else they had a huge staff sickness. It was pretty chaotic. Couldn’t sit outside as the tables were covered in glasses and no one clearing them for hours. Service at the bar was atrocious, and often no one there. Overall management was non existent and when he finally turned up, not exactly apologetic or helpful. The dinner we had was generally good but the cheese portions were pathetic and no gluten free crackers. The champagne and wine we chose were just beautiful.

We will be back ( promise) "Everyone was polite and helpful. Food was good and tasty but several of the dishes could have been hotter. Reception staff could not do enough to help even down to the loan of an extension lead for my night time breathing machine. I would like to say a special thank you to Helena for her professionalism and her abilities to sort out the most mundane of problems

Disappointing Me and my wife stayed last weekend as a treat, check in was ok, room nice but very hot, a fan supplied isn’t sufficient, grounds lovely, service was atrocious the poor staff on the bar were over run, no help from the managers felt so sorry for him, bar covered in glasses , continually running out of clean glasses and alcohol, 50 minute to receive our breakfast after ordering in the morning , should be so much beter when your paying a premium price, very disappointed
