A great nights stay. A clean and tidy hotel with plenty of car parking space (including many disabled spaces) Our room was bright, spacious and clean, with good en-suite facilities. The staff were very friendly and wanted to help in any way they could. Breakfast was buffet style, but all cooked items were kept hot. We intend to go back to this hotel again, and would recommend it.

Lovely stay Fabulous stay, and a special shout out for Sharon in the breakfast room for all her marvellous help and all the guys at reception. We have stayed here a few times now and it is always well appointed and so local to all our needs. Highly recommended!

Great convention space, poor room I had a fantastic time at Handycon here, and the space worked excellently for a board gaming convention. The breakfast was great and the food for lunch/dinner was decent too, if a little difficult to order. They already deliver the food to tables once you’ve ordered, so it’s crying out for an online/app ordering process. Staff throughout were lovely. The room however was incredibly dated and quite poor. Nearly everything in the room was broken, badly worn or had holes in it. All the fixtures were very dated too, and in stark contrast to the nice modern common areas in the hotel. It was serviceable as a bare bones place to sleep, and I’ll inevitably be back for the convention again, but there’s no chance I’d be staying if it weren’t convenient for that.

Nice hotel Stayed here for two nights on a business trip. As previous reviews have stated, the bedrooms need updating but they were still very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and the bar was very good with a nice selection of beers and spirits. Staff were very friendly and welcoming especially Bethany and Ek. Would recommend.

Okay apart from the loitering youths & dated decor Hotel is in quiet location on the outskirts of town. Plenty of parking and easy to find. Staff are friendly and seem to work very hard. Sadly the rooms are in desperate need of refurbishment and after a month of staying here for two nights per week I need a break. The beds are very creaky and if you move I the night will wake you up, with incredibly hard mattresses and paper thin duvets. They have a very old storage heater you can switch on and some have a fan in the wardrobe. Some rooms have a fridge, some don’t, no standardised approach to this and if you do have one, they have seen better days. Bathrooms are dated but spotlessly clean, decent water pressure and plenty of clean towels. They do offer room service, but you can only find the menu on the TV, can’t order via TV and reception seem to struggle with understanding what you are actually requesting. Would be much easier to actually put a hard copy menu in each room & have orders taken but Bar or Restaurant rather than reception. If you manage to order good, it’s okay, nothing special and is clearly “easy prep” for the kitchen. It won’t be winning any awards for gastronomical excellence any time soon and I do wonder the thought process for microwaving a burger when you’re charging nearly £20 for it. Also every order I have received has had something missing, usually a condiment or part of the meal! They offer online checkin & digital keys but you still have you stop at reception to checkin manually & get a physical key so it makes the whole online checkin process a totally pointless exercise. The hotel also seems to resemble a college campus in the evening as it seems like local companies have their apprentices staying in in this hotel. This brings lots of noise, rowdiness and slamming of bedroom doors. Also you have to walk through a haze of vape smoke past a hoard of youths to enter the hotel after 6pm. Over all it’s okay for a night, but I’ve reached the point after spending 8 nights there in the past 4 weeks I want to stay somewhere else with less creaky beds, warmer rooms & less youths loitering at the entrance.
