Desperate need of a refurbishment While check-in was reasonably smooth, unfortunately the rest of my stay was of a very poor standard. On the only evening I planned to eat at the hotel, the restaurant was closed and guests were directed to eat in the bar instead. Service was slow and disorganised, and the food itself was disappointing and not of an acceptable quality for a hotel of this type. The room was equally underwhelming. The mattress felt worn out, with the springs clearly noticeable, making it uncomfortable to sleep. The chair in the room was visibly stained, which did not give a good impression of cleanliness or upkeep. Most concerning was the shower head, which was covered in black slime and had to be replaced during my stay. Overall, the hotel appears tired and in urgent need of refurbishment. Based on this experience, I would struggle to recommend it until significant improvements are made to both facilities and standards.

Great location Booked a Sat & Sunday evening with breakfast for a couples shopping trip, we basically wanted somewhere to sleep . We didn’t need anything fancy but equally we didn’t want a travelodge. The hotel was easy to find being only a short walk from the train station. Our room wasn’t ready ( we were early ) but it wasn’t a problem to leave our bags. When we returned our room was ready , check in was fast and efficient. The room we had was as expected. Comfortable and clean. Bathroom a little dated but spotless and that’s what matters. The bed was comfortable and the room temperature was ideal. Kettle , tea and coffee all in room as standard. Breakfast was fine ( it was in with the price we paid ) Restaurant area was bright, clean and comfortable. No service needed as it was self service. We used the bar on our last night and again it was clean, bright and comfortable.. Overall a good stay for what we paid. We would stay again if the price was reasonable ( as it was )

Staying for 2 night’s average hotel but ok as close to meeting after mentioning about heating nothing seem to be done Room clean however no heating even after maintenance had reviewed breakfast over charged and just average booked as central to where meets held

Lovely reception staff NYE a man and women. Stayed for NYE, was very busy but reception staff were working really hard to get everyone checked in and was apologetic, really appreciated their hard work and kindness. Thank you.
