Groupon's Guide To Kent

Proudly dubbed the garden of England, Kent is more than merely the best place to appreciate manicured hedges and try delicious fresh produce. The region holds many of the country's precious ancient architectural jewels: from formidable castles to flamboyant Gothic churches, there is a lot to discover for all history buffs. If zipping over to the village idyll of Eynsford, travellers enthused by archaeology should be sure to stop off at the Lullingstone Roman Villa which boasts some of the most excellently preserved remains in the UK. Those who love the intricacies of Gothic vaults and stained-glass windows won't forget to visit the magnificent Canterbury Cathedral.

The elegant expanse of the Knole House estate allures visitors with its lofty manor house, herds of deer, and literary ties to such celebrated writers as Virginia Woolf. Over 300 years of military history may be uncovered at the Royal Engineers Museum, which plays host to an illuminating collection of weapons, vehicles, and uniforms from a variety of cultures.

Needs improving Having to pay for parking this should be free. £50 deposit never had to this before. Hotel and room very cold . 10% service charge on all purchases which you have to ask to be removed. Drinks very expensive. Room requires decoration. Breakfast not very good .

Parking fines a problem Am extremely concerned about the parking situation at the Bridgewood. Am having my wedding here and on a visit for a meeting as always I make sure I enter my car reg. As theres many reports locally of people being fined. On this occasion I entered the reg. And all appeared to have worked. Yet I received a fine( this was cancelled) however, reception insisted i had not entered my reg correctly and that there was no proof I had done so but they remembered me having the meeting so ademant I got reg. Wrong. Pointed out concrns about my guests and lack of notices inside reception but was told notices were on the tables. These consisted of a small notice on a card that you would not see if a event guest going straight to event room and not sit at a table, pick up cards to read. I have instructed on every correspondence with my guests and an anouncement will be made at the event. However, seeing reviews on here regarding the parking situation is very concerning as their descriptions and experiences are exactly what I experienced. Don't care atitude and I accept guests will forget or not be fully aware many are not being listened to and vertually told its all their mistake when clearly there is an issue that management needs to address and am not sure the consoles work 100% all the time. I wait and see what happens on the day and I know my guests really well and if a guest I know would without doubt enter their reg but gets a fine then I will know whos at fault. We will wait and see as I have no idea since the hotel does not want 70+ people congregating in reception how they will deal with this. Watch this space

Poor accommodation, food and service We booked a superior room and after checking in are concerned what the basic room is like, as the superior was poor quality. We also had to pay £5.00 to park in the hotel car.park which we have never had to do before. We also had to pay an extra £50.00 on arrival as a security payment ,which again after staying in many hotels on a regular basis have never done before. The prices in the hotel bar were very expensive and the quality and service very poor. The breakfast was all self service, not even tea and coffee served to your table and again the quality of food was poor. As I expect you can guess I would not recommend this hotel or would we return for a future stay.
