Poor Breakfast service Lovely Hotel with great facilities, however we stayed as a family over the weekend and on neither day was the breakfast satisfactory due to poor replenishment of a limited hot selection I was waiting nearly 45 minutes on the 2nd morning just to get some eggs & beans

Dreadfully do not go We booked this hotel through booking.com. Firstly they charge £15 per night for parking in a ridiculously small carpark which you have to book but the council parking round the corner is only £7.90 for 24hrs. Then we where told we had to pay a £50 deposit on arrival which we where not informed of, so if you are travelling on a budget make sure you add that in as it is taken from your bank. When getting to our room it was stiffling hot and was not cleaned very well as their was urine in the toilet and a sticky intimate plastic from a new costume stuck to the bathroom door. We then went to get a cold drink of water but both taps gave out hot water. The fan on the roof of the room was not working so at this point we rang down to get someone to have a look. Honestly the maintenance guy was useless and didn't have the battery available for the fan remote so couldn't fix it, when he left my husband had a look and it wasn't the battery it was a loose wire and so he fixed it himself. The spa facilities honestly feel like you are in a dungeon they are so dark and their is mould and paint stripping off the walls everywhere so very disappointing. The breakfast in the morning was equally as disappointing half of the food was empty we had to request for them to fill up, the toasters available didn't work, the food was cold and not of any good quality. We usually stay within the hotel on our stays use the facilities etc. but we could not wait to get home. Overall we will not be returning and would definitely not recommend to anyone.

Just dire Our experience at this hotel was dire. The spa was closed for the entirety of our stay. The executive room was not as described- Tv audio only, water pressure was so slow making running a bath a lengthy process, safety deposit box broken (no batteries), key card repeatedly failed and finally we needed the night porter to access the room ( security issue) Cleanliness in the room was hard to access because of the poor lighting in the room, which also made basic use of the room difficult, however the common areas displayed cleaning of dubious quality. Breakfast quality was poor and the coffee machine cups were paper. Staff morale was very low. I did attempt to get a refund or partial refund but the manager, whilst giving numerous platitudes hasn’t been forthcoming with any meaningful response.

Four star hotel? Who are you kidding? Allegedly a four star hotel, but more like a three star. Quite nice but a number of shortcomings. Like: * The TV did not work in the room. * The outside of the kettle in the room was extremely hot on arrival (I burnt myself) and, yet, there was no water in it, but the power switch was on. * The temperature in the room was insanely hot (had to open all the windows in order to sleep) * The fried eggs in the buffet breakfast were so dried up and rubber-like, they were inedible * The restaurant in the evening was completely lacking in ambience/atmosphere - bright lights and silence * Not all staff were friendly or helpful - for e.g the receptionist in the spa would not allow me to take a quick look at the facilities in order to decide whether I wanted to use them or not. Nice building though...
