Ruined my weekend “Specialises in weddings” translates to not caring about any other guests. We arrived barely being able to walk through the door due to the 20+ people in the queue in front of us, with guests insisting we “turn around and go home, seriously” - this instantly put a sour taste in our mouths and honestly made me want to walk back out there and then. After 30ish mins of waiting we were told to sit in the bar and wait for a room despite checking in after the check in time. No one came after an additional 20+ mins of waiting so we returned to reception only to be told our room was now ready. We booked a king size room and the room was clearly a double despite reception stating different. One of the main attractions to the hotel was the spa facilities, which due to the sheer amount of guests booked was simply unusable. Walking through practically a swimming pool in itself, being the changing room, slipping all over the place was quite frankly dangerous. But sharing a hot tub with TWENTY PLUS people was one of the worst experiences of my life, feeling toenails floating about in lukewarm murky water, topping it off with plasters on the side of the pool and wedding guests fully clothed with outdoor shoes on in the spa area simply made me severely uncomfortable. Highly regret entering this space in the first place. I understand businesses are going to want to take all bookings they can, but booking way beyond what their facilities can handle I personally think is completely unacceptable. We spoke to 3/4 other groups of people who all complained, asked for their money back and said they would never return. After additionally realising the shower was partly broken and the bedding had stains on we complained to reception and walked out and went home. A hotel for the night is supposed to be a relaxing experience but this was the complete opposite. I am really disappointed as I had been to this hotel previously and had a different experience but I simply cannot tolerate what we had to endure, ESPECIALLY FOR THE HIGH PRICE FOR 1 NIGHT, it is the principle of it and it is simply below acceptable standards.

Absolute shambles I think this hotel may be the worst I have ever stayed in. Arrived about an hour early, the room wasn't ready, no problem as we were early so went to the bar/restaurant to grab some lunch. I was shocked, it looked like a low rent sports bar. Messy, no table service, it actually looked dirty. We went back at 3 to check in to find huge queues at each desk. There was a wedding the following day, consequently one man was checking about 50 people in, having to give passport information for each guest. It was an absolute joke, there is no process to deal with this. They need a separate check in for wedding guests. It took 40 minutes to get checked in. Unacceptable. The room was nice and comfy but it was obvious the room had been cleaned quickly. Only one robe and slippers, mirrors not cleaned properly. We went to the spa, which looks nice enough but again, had to queue to get into the pool as it was one in one out. The pool area was vile, piles of wet towels everywhere. Not a member of staff in sight to clean/tidy. We had dinner in the restaurant, which was ok. Not much to say about that. Breakfast the next morning involved yet another queue to get in. Food all over the floor, messy tables not cleared. The food was actually good. The problem with this hotel is capacity. There are not enough staff to meet the demands when the hotel is full. The pool and spa are nowhere near big enough when the hotel is full. This hotel was so bad that even if I was offered a free night, I wouldn't take it.

Not the best Me and my husband booked this hotel as we were gifted a Crazy Bear meal for Christmas (which is close by) and this hotel seemed perfect for us. On arrival there was a huge queue to check in and a lady was shouting at one of the members of staff as she said she had waited for half an hour and seemed very stressed. We waited about 15 minutes to check in and the reception was extremely busy. When we checked in they asked for a 50 pound deposit and said it would be released back to us when they got the room back which seemed like a waste of time to me as they didn’t even check if the room was ok on leaving. The lady that checked us in didn’t tell us anything about the spa facilities and we don’t have any robes or slippers which others where wearing when they where walking past us. There was a huge queue of the lifts so we didnt bother using them and walked up the stairs to our room. The room on arrival was ok but looked like a premier inn room so nothing special. The bed was comfy and made and looked very clean but the mirrors had smears all over them and the sink hadn’t been fully cleaned. The view from the window was a dive. We went to look at the swimming pool and it didn’t look that impressive and was very busy, because we also didn’t have any robes we didn’t bother using it. On check out we did say we where not impressed and they offered us a spa day there but to be honest I wouldn’t return for a spa day. Overall the staff where friendly but it was a mediocre hotel, nothing special and if I would have known I would have booked a premier inn which was around the corner and pretty much half the price.
