Fantastic New Years Eve We enjoyed a fantastic New Years Eve Gala Dinner (and stay over) as part of a group of 15 friends. The food, service and disco were all excellent and our whole party really enjoyed the event. A special thank you to all the friendly, smiling, hard working team over the 2 days, where nothing was too much trouble.

Groupon’s Guide To West Yorkshire

Approximately overlapping the historical West Riding of Yorkshire, the landlocked West Yorkshire stretches on miles of uplands and steep valleys populated by urban clusters or countryside settings, standing out as a mosaic of interplaying land formations washed by the rivers Aire and Calder.

West Yorkshire is home to the world’s first nature reserve, Walton Hall, and to the scenic Ilkley Moor, homeland of the county’s anthem and set for an array of unique rock formations. Outdoorsy types can embark on a climbing or bouldering adventure on The Chevin, without disregarding the scenic sights of Harewood House.

The riverside remains of the Sandal Castle in Wakefield, the Cartwright Hall and the Royal Armouries Museum are just a few of the highlights that heritage and cultural tourism aficionados can visit while in West Yorkshire.

Very disappointed on return visit after 1 year. Not worth the money at all. Disappointing Return Visit – Not Worth the Money After having a lovely visit last year, I decided to return to Gomersal Park Hotel & Spa as a birthday treat for my friend. Unfortunately, this visit was extremely disappointing and fell well below expectations. On arrival, we found that many of the lockers in the changing rooms were not working. Several spa facilities were also out of order, including the sauna and the Jacuzzi. The mud chamber was not clean and was not fully operational, which was very disappointing in a spa setting. When I asked the receptionist about the Jacuzzi, I was simply told it wasn’t working due to guests pressing buttons. I was then informed there were two outdoor Jacuzzis we could use — however, one of these was being cleaned at the time. None of this was pointed out to us on arrival, which feels misleading given the cost of the experience. To make matters worse, our afternoon tea had to be taken in the hotel bar. Sitting in a public bar wearing robes and swimwear is neither comfortable nor appropriate and certainly not the the relaxing experience we were expecting. Overall, this visit was not worth the money and sadly tainted my friend’s birthday treat. I would not recommend the spa based on this experience and will not be returning.

Downhill slope This place has definitely gone down hill. Treatment room cold with peeling wallpaper, although must say massage was very nice but poorer quality products. Initial appointment cancelled due to staff sickness and then today treatments should have been at same time, but once again staff sickness made this impossible, so spent over an hour alone whilst treatments being carried out. Jacuzzi not working, outside jacuzzis functioning but with dirty scum and brown greasy edges _ swimming pool nice and warm but smelt very strongly of chlorine and once again drain pipe strewn in. At least 8 lockers broken in locker room. Coffee served in plastic mugs - oh dear!!! Just gave the overall impression of a place on its last legs. After visiting here several times in the past, we sadly won’t be going again.

Really disappointed So we came a few years ago- super clean, well kept and numbers were manageable. We have come now - unfortunately they have changed hands , it was super super busy a lot more expensive than it has been in the past, there’s a damp smell in the changing rooms and facilities which was annoying and was never around before. Some of the towels had marks on them, we booked full body massages which were in fact half body massages and they charge more!!!

Lovely Christmas Break We could not understand why more people did not book this great value Christmas Break. Given the low cost of the break our expectations were not high, but we were very pleasantly surprised. From the moment we arrived we found the staff to be extremely pleasant and welcoming. The food was plentiful and served with smiling faces. The spa facilities made our Christmas. The only negative was the bedroom was small and basic, but given the price we paid we couldn’t complain. We would have liked more storage, and better lighting in the room as well as a full length mirror.
