Groupon's Guide to Kent

If zipping over to the village idyll of Eynsford, travelers enthused by archaeology should be sure to stop off at the Lullingstone Roman Villa which boasts some of the most excellently preserved remains in the UK.

The gentrified sprawl of the Knole House estate allures visitors with its lofty manor house, herds of deer, and literary ties to such celebrated writers as Virginia Woolf. Over 300 years of military history may be uncovered at the Royal Engineers Museum, which plays host to an illuminating collection of weapons, vehicles, and uniforms from a variety of cultures.

There should be a "no stars" - Not fit for habitation. My family and I were looking forward to a staycation. Be it short, we thought it would be nice to enjoy a weekend stay together. The rooms were inadequately heated, so much so that my mum contracted a cold and I had nose congestion for months afterwards. I asked the hotel about the heating and was given blankets but this was not enough as the problem was the air, which was so cold. The shower was also a trickle of water so there was a problem with the pressure. The rooms were dirtly as well as the bathrooms. We cleaned one bathroom ourselves and all used the one bathroom to shower. We wore flipflops (there were 7 of us including 4 children), never touching anything. In another room across the hall, a lady was also complaining to a member of staff about the temperature and when we left, I spent an hour waiting in front of other customers with complaints. I patiently waited and completed a form, left my contact details and until this day have not received any follow up, no call or email. I complained to Groupon, which was very tiresome, so I would be mindful of what Groupons you purchase, especially for hotels and getaways, I have had some really good experiences, but leaving the comfort of your own home for somewhere inhabitable and having to pay for it is just a waste of time and of course not what you leave your house for and we are still out if pocket. Very dissapointing at best. I would not recommend this hotel at all. They looked to be re-painting at the time but it will take more than that to turn a stay into a positive and pleasurable experience. If Alex Polizzi (look up The Hotel Inspector) was to visit, she would turn and run! I have never written a bad review before kn Groupon but wanted to save someone else from having the same experience, its a complete waste of money and like I say, not fit for human habitation.

Shout out to the wonderful staff If you're looking for a luxury hotel this may not be it (what do you expect for the price?) but it's a comfortable night's sleep in a perfect location on the harbour. Warm spacious bedrooms with stunning sea view rooms. There's tea and coffee making facilities, wardrobe, drawers and a make up/hair styling table and chair with a mirror. We even had an iron, ironing board and a fan. We really appreciated the little table next to the window in the bedroom with two chairs. So many hotels only provide one chair in double rooms. The food could definitely be warmer yes, but it's a brilliant selection and the options for dietary requirements are fantastic. Huge shout out to the amazing restaurant staff doing such a dedicated and wonderful job, they really made our weekend!

Bloody fabulous stay X 2. I’ve stayed in 5 star hotels all over the world and honestly, the people leaving a 1 star review for a £40 a night hotel need to cough up some serious cash for a high end hotel & get some perspective. I was given a glorious room overlooking the seafront. The room was clean and fresh. Free coffee and tea making facilities. Wi Fi was strong. The bar at night was an absolute hoot. It was like the bar from “Star Wars” film. These loons are the people leaving the 1 star reviews. I’m formerly a Kent man and live overseas now and stayed here TWICE for 4 nights each time during my return visit to the uk. Look for fun and happiness and you’ll find it you miserable bunch.
