Much better than expected… We were attending a music event that we were performing at and stopped at the hotel for one night - a Saturday, and despite having reservations after reading recent reviews and almost cancelling after reading them we were so glad we didn’t. Yes, the hotel including the rooms, is a little dated and could probably do with a full refurb but it was spotless and the staff were superb. I didn’t manage to get the name of the man who looked and sounded like he was in charge but he was a tall man with an Italian accent who absolutely excelled in his role and was a great ambassador for the hotel. All other staff we engaged with were friendly and professional. The hotel felt like it was a little understaffed but the staff on duty were excellent. We ate in the restaurant and although the choice was a bit limited, the standard was absolutely fine. We didn’t see any evidence of dirt or poor hygiene as described in previous reviews. Overall, a really pleasant surprise and I’d be happy to stay there again!

ANYTHING BUT GRAND Spent 1 night here, where do i start. Let's just say the streets are cleaner. Arrived and looked clean and well presented from what I first saw in the reception. Check in was efficient and I was happy with that. The problems stated when I reached the second floor. It smelt of tobacco and cannabis all the way through and very musty after exiting the lift. I was assigned room 226, and let's just say the streets in Blackpool are cleaner. The room was dirty. Bed had crumbs and what I presume could only have been public hairs in them. Curtains and bedding was stained with god knows what (see pictures). Was absolutely knackered after travelling with 3 cases so decided to have dinner in the hotel. What a mistake that was. It looked like something you would get in a camp in Syria. Everything was deep fried and a free for all. Dinner cost £15 so was expecting something decent but didnt get it. Rooms are very dated and in need of a major lift or at least a deep clean clean. Hotel was very busy as they had some kind of balloon convention going on. But it was nice seeing how it was decorated. Over all I ended up leaving at 7am because I had not slept even though check out was 11am. Just be warned this hotel is anything but GRAND.

Was OK but won't be back Good location but very neglected and clearly struggling and trying to run on a very tight budget. Cold room, had to get a portable heater from reception. Public areas look OK but everything else is tired. LONG wait at bar (only 1 bar tender and not his fault). Walls are paper thin, could hear people in next room clearly, including when they went to the loo. Won't be running back. Shame really as imagine it was nice 30 years ago

Served the purpose Overall not bad for what we needed, a good size room with a sea view. However, a few disappointments, room wasn’t cleaned properly, we found empty crisp packets beside the beds. The beds weren’t made - we had sheets on top of the beds which we had to make ourselves after a busy day. Staff were friendly apart from the guy who worked at the pool. I rang the hotel prior to the visit to ask the protocol regarding the swimming and if there were specific hours for the kids. I was told anytime between 8-5 however when we arrived, we were quite abruptly asked if we had booked which we hadn’t as we didn’t have this information. We informed the guy who was on the desk and he took a while looking at his availability that morning, meanwhile our excited children were waiting patiently. Although he seemed annnoyed that we had not booked, after a wait he told us that we could enter the pool. We very much enjoyed our 20 mins and were grateful the kids weren’t let down. Another note to mention is the breakfast; we came down to check out at 10 am, ready for breakfast but we were told they finished service at 9 am. So with very hungry tummies we drove somewhere else to find something to eat. Overall an ok stay but felt let down on a few factors

Very Disappointing Stay – Multiple Room Moves & Illness We stayed at the Grand Hotel Blackpool on 13th and 14th February and unfortunately our experience was extremely disappointing. On arrival, the first room we were allocated was in poor condition. We were then moved — and had to change rooms a total of four times before finally being given one that was at an acceptable standard. This caused significant inconvenience and completely disrupted the start of our stay. The rooms we were initially shown were not properly maintained and did not meet basic expectations for cleanliness and upkeep. The food was also of very poor quality. Sadly, after eating at the hotel, I became unwell and subsequently suffered food poisoning, which affected the remainder of our weekend. While some staff members were polite, the overall standard of accommodation and catering was far below what we expected. Given the issues we experienced, I cannot recommend staying here unless significant improvements are made.
