Rooms were dated but clean and comfortable. But the building generally needs some repair and tlc, the windows especially are on the verge of falling out as the timber is rotten. The external facade is virtually rendered in seagul poop. Hotel staff are pleasant and helpful, bar prices are reasonable, and the breakfast and dinner were very nice with a good selection in the buffet style offering.

Just give it a go - u won’t regret. Stayed here overnight before an early event in Scarborough. What a pleasant surprise!! Britannia hotels, maybe you are starting to listen to your customers. This one is definitely worth a visit. Hearty hot food in the canteen style restaurant, beautiful sea view and comfortable room with everything I need for the night. I couldn’t have asked for more, and I’m really pleased with the touch of charm over the bland and boring Travelodge across the road.

2 night weekend stay My wife and I arrived at the hotel at 13.15 after being advised no left luggage available and 15.00 check in or 13.00 costing £10.00. We carried our passports as advised required for check in ID. On arrival the receptionist helpfully advised room ready and could now check in (no cost) also as we checked in on line passports were not required. We were allocated room 412 which we found comfortable clean and good WIFI connection with sea view, although windows dirty. Unfortunately due to weather conditions gale winds and old building , the wind was howling through the sash window. We didn't complain and put hand towels on the gaps to help. The bath was a surprise as being jacuzzi style with overhead shower We travelled by train and this is 10 mins walk away and central to all amenities. We have stayed here before and in better weather conditions we did make allowances for the old building and weather conditions.
