The WORST I have EVER encountered Absolutely TERRIBLE. Fawlty Towers without an ounce of hilarity. Where do I start? Booked via Booking.com where I stated I was travelling with a dog. Total price quoted was £62.10 and I was advised that there was private parking available albeit limited, and available on a first come, first served basis. Fair enough. I thought. On arrival I was told there was a £20/night charge for the dog and parking would be £10/night. RIP-OFF. I was, after much haggling permitted to park for free for the night, despite having paid for breakfast that I was unable to enjoy due to leaving early for a ferry. The room was warm and relatively clean. The bathroom was a joke - or, rather, not as it happened. The loo seat was held on by a thread, if that. On turning the taps on in the sink, water of a brown gunk colour - plus other detritus gurgled into and duly filled the bath. A completely revolting sight and which stopped me in my tracks even contemplating getting into said bath for a shower. Absolutely DISGUSTING. I left my phone charger in the room which was duly found after I telephoned reception. I asked them to post it to me but unfortunately that was not possible unless I sent a pre-paid/addressed package to them. I give up and will order a new charger as easier than dealing with this scam of a so-called 'hotel.' The ONLY plus point was the seared prawns which were, I'll admit, good. The service was reasonable although when I requested a pot of tea the waiter sighed and produced a cup with a tea bag and some hot water. Never, ever again will I so much as contemplate a stay at this truly dreadful hotel. To the management of said HOVEL... I recommend you close your so-called hotel until you have resolved the issues (which I see from other reviews are numerous) and, too, make it CLEAR what your charges in fact are with respect to dogs and parking.

Oban hotel disappointing stay. Only positive feature was close proximity to the town center. Hotel was quiet, bar closed at 11pm despite being guest. Attitude was well there is a bar around the corner. Room was not as advertised. No hot water at all for a bath. Draft was coming through the brickwork. Decor is in need for an upgrade. Cleanliness room was clean however sick was present on the front steps for our entire trip. Food was nice and waiting staff were kind and attentive. This could be a wonderful hotel if money was spent to upgrade.
