Overnight stay The hotel was in the process of getting ready for the summer season. Room was tired but comfortable. No shortage of tea and coffee facilities in the room. The staff were great. Wasn't sure at first but the staff made up for tired deco. I'd revisit.

Put the heating on When we arrived there were other guests checking in. The check in process is very slow. We waited in the lounge which was decidedly cold. There were Lots of small oil filled radiators around the room Our room was extremely cold and staff gave us two of the above mentioned radiators. After 2 hours, the room was still cold and were allocated an upstairs room. Thankfully warmer than the first. Poppy was very pleasant, friendly and efficient in her approach to finding a solution for our issues. She doubled as barmaid and waitress, training a young girl new to the job. Food was good, we has dinner the first night and breakfast both days. Breakfast selection couldn’t be faulted and the fresh fruit salad was a nice touch. The only improvement to be made, the cooked food could have been hotter

You get what you pay for We made a reservation through Booking.com and accepted a cheap deal, as we only needed a room for one night so we could attend a gig. We got what we paid for, and the room was clean but very basic and tired. It's no wonder the staff didn't actually show us to our room, as the reaction would have been embarrassing for all concerned. Breakfast was good and staff were friendly, despite the apparent staff shortage.

Let's do the time warp. Just superb views if you manage to get a room at the front of the building. Grand entrance with old wooden revolving door. Tall ceilings throughout, it's a large building dating back to victorian times. BUT, the building now needs some significant money throwing at it as it looks tired and very dated. If you like 1980's Hotels, this is for you! Bathroom was large, dated but clean, towels were clean as was the bedding. Usual tea and coffee making facilities were ok. Poor signal on most tv channels through a rather small tv, as for the tv remote control, please see picture! _ This Hotel could be made to look fantastic inside, the bones are still there but it needs a big investment.

Lovley views, nice staff, nice Brekkie Staff nice, rooms quite dated, but clean and carpet was stained, perhaps because we were in a pet room. We were charged £20 per pet per night, and a charge of £10 to park our car in the hotel grounds Didnt get much sleep due to people going along corridors during early hours of morning too smoke. Breakfast was lovley well cooked and presented.
