Reservation failure Tried many times for the last two days to make an on line reservation at members discount rate. In an endless loop on line and nobody answering the phone in reservations. Very frustrating and very poor service.

Crufts by the sea Myself and my family have stopped at The Imperial many times over the years but the most recent stay we had during December 2025 is by far the worst – likely to be our last. The management of the hotel is destroying what is one of the most impressive hotels in Blackpool. Steeped with history and class, it is such a shame to see the hotel being driven into such a decline. If you enjoy the smell of wet dog, you may appreciate the welcome as you enter The Imperial. While it’s understandable that a dog-friendly hotel will have the occasional pet around, I certainly wasn’t expecting what felt like Blackpool’s version of Crufts spread across the furniture when we arrived. The room was the best part of the whole experience despite the peculiar smell. Very rare to find a room which comfortably accommodates a family of four adults. The downfalls were most definitely the smell, the uncontrollable heat and, the TV which was incredibly difficult to operate. The restaurant was awful. Quite ironic that the hotel was advertising a Fawlty Towers experience given this appears to be the usual standard of the restaurant. The menu for the evening meal was simply printed on a piece of A4 paper (not what you expect when you are paying upwards of £30 per person), meals choices were more ‘pub-grub’ than luxury hotel and some of the staff appear to have missed the training of how to treat guests. Over two hours to be served a three course meal is simply unacceptable. Breakfast was even worse than the evening meal. After queuing outside of the restaurant for over 10 minutes, we were allocated a table. When being show to the table, it was already taken by other guests who had decided to relocate themselves so, we were given a table next to the cereal station instead. The food was of very poor quality and there was a lack of choice available thanks to the lack of replenishment by staff. Some guests, both adults and children, were wearing pyjamas to the restaurant – why were these not turned away at the door? The usual dirty hand in food crew were in full force too. Staff were running around aimlessly, a clear reflection of bad management. Leisure centre has been out of action for a number of years. It would be nice to be given an alternative to use in the meantime. Although the hotel seems to be focusing on providing a Bultins experience with the kids game room in place of a gym. Car parking has always been at an additional cost but at £14 per day, this is very steep. Not to mention that paying for 24 hours does not actually mean you can park there for 24 hours. Guest relations hide behind the reception staff. There is no direct email address or contact details for the manager. They clearly do not want to face up to their diabolical running of the hotel. It’s also difficult to ignore the number of very recent glowing reviews that have appeared on Trip Advisor from contributors who have either one or very few post, many of which simply do not reflect the reality of the hotel we experienced during our stay. The contrast between these reviews and the actual standard of the hotel raises serious questions about their authenticity, as our experience (and the experience of several other guests we spoke to) was far from the picture these reviews paint.

A very tired hotel Stayed for 1 night to attend the theatre. Very disappointing, for £90+ a night, there are better alternatives. Breakfast overcooked, room cold, bathroom not the cleanest, mattress very hard.
