Sunday lunch We went to the kingscliff in clacton for Sunday lunch on Sunday 21st December 2025. The service was outstanding...our waiter was named Henry and we were looked after so well. The operations manager Josh was and is an excellent host..He made us feel so welcome and despite his position, he was ready to assist in every way. Welcoming guests and assisting to serve lunches etc. All in all, excellent and as we live close by we will revisit. Thank you. Merry Xmas. Mr & Mrs Lowther

In a tranquil corner of Essex, where meadows and creeks meet the sea, you'll discover a hidden gem, just an hour away from London but a world apart. The Kingscliff Hotel, a modern coastal retreat, is adored by locals and travelers seeking the simple pleasures of the seaside, especially when England's climate is most inviting. To the south, Clacton-on-Sea offers traditional family fun, while to the north, you'll find the genteel charm of Frinton, the epitome of an English seaside resort.

Situated right on the promenade, the Kingscliff Hotel, with its powder blue facade, is the perfect spot to breathe in the sea air, savor the freshest seafood, and leisurely observe the world passing by. It's a place to escape, celebrate, and, most importantly, a place to call home.

Groupon's Guide To Essex

A host of Grade I and II listed buildings offer the base for heritage tourism in Essex, including landmarks like the 7th-century Chapel of St Peter-on-the-Wall in Bradwell-on-Sea, the Hedingham Castle in Braintree District, and the Norman-style Colchester Castle. On top of the approximately 1400 landmarks of historic interest, Essex also boasts a number of unique highlights.

The county is thus home to Finchingfield, the quintessential British village, deemed one of the most beautiful rural hubs of England, and to Great Bentley in the Tendring district, boasting the second largest village green nationwide. Countryside sceneries are complemented by coastal expanses and seascapes, with destinations such as Frinton-on-Sea, Clacton-on-Sea, and Mersea Island catering for visitors interested in beach tourism and water sports.

Nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts can head for the wetlands of Abberton Reservoir or for the ancient woodland of Epping Forest. Further pursuits are occasioned by Saffron Walden, a one-of-a-kind blend of rural charm and medieval features, and by the modern-day Lakeside Shopping Centre in West Thurrock, a gargantuan 2600000 square feet shopping centre and one of the largest in Europe.

whole hotel was so cold, eating and drinking with our coats on. Freezing cold hotel and rooms, was told they would put heaters in our rooms, that did not happen we were so cold all night including my 87 year old mother. Told us they had heating problems. Offered us a free bottle of wine if we stay again. Promised our money back by manager Joshua, never received it, just ignores my emails. Badly let down

Vacancy for Manager The car parking is free and freshly surfaced, make sure that you register to avoid being charged. Fire alarms are unpredictable and irregular, expect disturbed nights. You will not get an explanation nor an apology. If dining, it is preferable if you know exactly what you have ordered looks like and tastes like. It will help to avoid unpleasant surprises. If in doubt call it out

Ruined birthday party and beyond awful customer service. AVOID!! Absolute nightmare getting booked in the first place due to unresponsive and unhelpful staff. We only kept the booking as it was for a birthday party and we wanted the experience of the outdoor pod. We'd paid in advance for the garden pod and pre-ordered the food at the restaurants request, only for them to then ring on the day of the party 3 hours before as there had 'been a leak'. When I asked how long they had known about they said they'd been trying to contact me for days, until I pointed out that i'd spoken to them the day before about food pre-orders and had paid the bill for it that morning when they sent it over. They then tried to tell me the leak had only happened the day before so they couldn't have given me much more notice - whatever happened here it was lie upon lie and the girl on the phone was unapologetic, rude and disingenuous. I've honestly had more pleasant interactions with GP receptionists, and better customer service from a vending machine. I've then had to chase them repeatedly for a refund of the money paid for both the pod and food preorders, and after being told this could take 7 days its now been 11 and I'm still waiting and £145 out of pocket. Avoid at all costs.
