Leisure section - gym classes Matt Robinson's classes are great at the gym. He is always ready and organised for us when we arrive, his classes are well thought through and he is very good at ensuring we carry out all the exercises correctly, pointing out bad posture or unsafe technique. He is very reliable too. Great sessions, Matt, thank you.

Same as it ever was I used to stay at this hotel frequently around 10 years ago and was looking forward to returning on business. Ultimately though I was pretty underwhelmed. The hotel is clean and the staff were helpful, pleasant and efficient. The decor and furnishings are exactly the same as they were over a decade ago, especially in the rooms which look dated and in need of a refresh, especially the rusting old electric heaters. That said the room was comfortable enough Breakfast is table service which made it something of a slow process, fine if you have time but not so great when you have somewhere to be. In the end I had to enquire how much longer I would have to wait which moved things along. In fact the waitress turned up with 2 cooked breakfasts for me a few minutes later instead of 1. The food itself was delicious but the breakfast service was chaotic. Overall good value for money but needs refreshing to become a premium hotel again rather than a budget.

Outdated accommodation Family room in 123 was big enough, but the mattress were too soft, carpet has lots of dust. Bathroom is mouldy, Especially on the ceiling and the bathtop. Toilet cistern cover was not fixed, so easily removable, items can easily drop into it and very difficult to flush properly. No heating on the swimming pool, sauna and steam were very good despite no light in the steam room was quite interesting. Bedding seems to be a bit dirty, some skin infections on my little one year old and towel may be not as clean as you thought as my wife needed to call 111 for health assistance. Restaurant is very quiet, considering the price of the main courses, you would expect better quality, portion size is very small. Kids meal was big enough on the other hand. Took a long time 20-30 minutes to give us the bill and the card machine, had to go to reception to pay for the bill.

Awful experience Awful reception really unfriendly headed to spa lady was rude no robes or slippers as we were not having treatments untill following day so was given a towel. No loungers to sit round pool only bare minimum maybe 8 loungers . Went bar before heading out was not acknowledged by two members behind bar. Walked out returned back 10.15 to be told bar was closed because they can do that if quiet no offer of a drink or alternative solution. Had a random man knock at our bedroom door saying he heard we never got a drink so brought a bottle of wine up to us. Only a staff member would have known room number scary experience. Heaters making clicking noises all night hardly slept no toilet roll. Then cleaner knocked us up 9.50 when check out was 11. Plug in bath was corrided water would not empty so could not shower. Carpets were dirty not hoovered. Overall experience awful we go to spas regularly will not be going back.

Nice hotel let down by awful food We had booked a spa break overnight. The treatment was fantastic and the spa facilities great. My room was fine nothing special but clean and spacious with normal amenities but no tea or coffee . We ate in the bar at lunch it was distinctly average pub type food I order the chicken skewers which were supposed to be marinated but certainly didn’t taste like it. Dinner was in the restaurant and it was shockingly awful, I order a margarita pizza , supposed to have tomato base with mozzarella and basil. It came topped in very greasy orange cheese clearly not mozzarella and no basil, I complained was told it was a cheese blended with mozzarella ( what rubbish) and was given a pot of pesto in lieu of the basil, yuck didn’t want pesto in my pizza, I only ate 1 slice I was given a free drink due to my complaint. Dessert I ordered lemon meringue pie, clearly had been frozen not fresh and highly processed not good. I most definitely would not go there again
