We will be back ! This was our second visit, and we will definitely be back. The staff go above and beyond — always helpful with a welcoming smile. The location is perfect, the food was absolutely lovely, we had breakfast and evening meals on this stay and couldn’t fault it .

Not great Enquired in advance about car park , had blunt email stating first come , first served! Upon arrival car park full , had park down the road. We were checking in and the noise was loud The lady advised there was a rowdy crowd of 'Truckers' staying and it would be a wild night The lady also claimed that the crowd of truckers poured drink down her throat! Not something you should disclose to guests!! We put our things in our room and went out for the evening as wanted quiet time As carers this was our night away for a peaceful break We returned at 1030pm and the music was loud and the guests! The bedroom walls are thin you can hear moving around The double room was small and compact and very warm! The shower took ages to heat and leaked The good thing about the room was the bed! It's definitely an outdated hotel that needs upgrading Floorboards creaky We only paid £50 b&b rate , I certainly wouldn't pay anymore I'd rather pay £30 more and stay at the Palace down the road Breakfast was basic

Best ever hotel. As soon as you enter, you feel that warm welcoming feeling. Can't wait to get back. They all went that extra mile. The food was good and the entertainment was very very good. We went with plimbley travel, turkey and tinsel, it's was the best ever. I can recommend this hotel to anyone.

Just waiting for Bazil. We took a late booking and went for a few days. Booking was easy via a third party. I looked at reviews and being open minded thought it would do the job. Car parking was good on arrival. The room was finished with dated furniture but this didn't bother us. The restaurant service was very random and very budget a small roll which was cut in half to serve two. We didn't have tea or coffee at the end as was not informed that it was served in bar and lounge area. The night was awful doors banging all night and our neighbours door was being knocked an slammed shut. At 0430 it started again. At breakfast the service not much better. As was that evening meal. But the morning of our departure they had not expected us but put us on a table. Service was absolutely horrendous we had tea and coffee but no milk I had fruit my wife Alpen but no milk she asked and was tole sorry will get som but none arrived she asked three times in all but no milk. Fortunately two sets of guest gave her what they had left over. Breakfast arrived but no toast. Asked twice but that also didn't arrive. I believe the head waiter has only been in the job two weeks and maybe needs betterorganisation with waiter and waitress allocation to residents to prevent confusion. Also at breakfast they are supposed to give you the dinner menu so you can pre order. This was not done and one guest we know of was refused an evening meal. His breakfast was also cold and a disaster and an advantage as he let us have his milk. On a positive very good location. Easy walk to Torquay. We are not too fussy but like cleanliness and good no nonsense food. It was clean and no frills. But can't see us returning.

Basic How this hotel ever got 4 stars we will never know. We were on the ground floor at the back of the hotel and it was small, outdated and for too hot! The extractor fan outside our window kept my partner awake half the night, on top of an unncomfortable sunken bed. The shower was claustrophobic and very small. We thought breakfast might be a bonus but sadly everything was basic! Basic cold food, basic service. I for one wouldn't go back and unless you're old don't bother.
