Rude staff, money grabbers, not worth the money Stayed here a few years ago when it was mercure- had pool included. Visited recently and was told had to pay £10 extra each to use to pool facilities and that it’s not included in the £120 a night room fee. Details of this hidden in the depths of booking.com rather than being made obvious. Parking extra £24. Only payed the extreme £120 fee so i could use a pool. Should have stayed elsewhere. Pretty basic room for the cost and hotel reception very very unfriendly and spoke way too quiet. Acted like she didn’t want to be there at all. Really wouldn’t recommend, go elsewhere.

Go Celtic manor - it's better value for money Been here several times before, always recommended but no more. Paid for 2 nights, I'm a swimmer so was really looking forward to a couple of swims. But found out on arrival it is now an additional £10 per person per swim on top of an additional £48 parking for 2 nights. Celtic manor would have been substantially cheaper with an evening meal included. Absolutely gutted as this was my fave but no more Mouldy windows, crusty shower, stained carpets Ugh a fi!

Pool unsafe to use We booked this hotel largely due to the pool and sauna facilities which were in an unsafe state when we used them. We have been here previous years and never had any issues. We paid £10 each extra to use the facilities, it is not included in the room fee, which is understandable if the facilities are actually in working order. We were really disappointed and didn't stay very long as there were a number of issues we were not informed of before paying that day or using the facilities. 1. The pool was very very cold and there was a hose leading all the way from the women's shower to the pool to feed some hot water in to the pool. There were signs to not go near it or to touch the hose which didn't feel very safe. The hose was quite easy to trip over as it was quite a length from the women's shower to the pool area. 2. The sauna wasn't working at all and there was a sign to say it was out of order on the door. 3. The hand rail which was the only entry to the pool was really shaky and was not safe to put your weight on. 4. The other exit from the pool was out of order and we were not allowed to use. Tt was taped off and a sign on it, there appeared to be a tile missing which is why I assume it was taped off. This meant the only exit and entry was to use the shaky unstable handrail. 5.The jacuzzi had a lot of a powder substance on the deepest part of it which I stepped it. It was really worrying to step in and not know if it should come in contact with my skin or if the concentration in the water was safe to breath in. I am assuming it was chemicals to keep the water clean but usually these is dissolved in the water and not left as a powder at the bottom. My partner did try to reach out to the hotel before I posted this review, but as of 6 days after I messeged them I have had no official word back about our complaint. It is extremally disappointing to reach out with our concerns and be left on read for days, we were then asked for our email so they could get in touch. As of 2 days later we have still heard nothing. I tried to find a complaints email or the managers contact details but there seems to be nowhere official to log complaints, only the main number and reception email.

2* experience An apparent 4* hotel clearly being run on a shoestring with a wholly unwelcoming reception team and no room servicing whatsoever. Save your money and just book a 2* star hotel for an equivalent experience!

Absolutely Awful, Do not stay here The hotel itself was nice to look at and so was our room, the overall stay was extremely disappointing. The spa was okay but the pool area was so cold as well as the hot tub and pool that we left early. We had a 2 course dinner included with our package and all I can say is that the meals were not up to standard, the one meal we had was inedible. The environment was filled with the sound from the tv that of a strong man contest. It was not the anniversary my partner and I were expecting. As the dinner was so awful we decided later on at night to order room service where we found the phone not working which we felt uneasy about in case of an emergency. We ordered food at the reception where there was no apology made. The food that came was just as bad as the dinner if not worse as we had to pay extra for it. The room was unbearably cold during the night even with the heating on. Our package included breakfast where we went down in the morning but we were not on the list which lead to a delay in us being served. Breakfast was disappointing not many options for vegetarians and a strong odour of fish whilst we were eating. There was no atmosphere in the hotel, this was not the relaxing anniversary break that we wanted. We had also put on our reservation that it was our anniversary but there was nothing special about it. Absolutely horrific, I have been trying to get in contact for around 3 weeks now to tell then about my stay and how unhappy I am about it but i keep getting ignored and emails are not being responded too.
