Many small niggles Really good location once you are able to find the hotel. Since booking the hotel name had been changed 3 times with regular updates from booking com who this stay had been booked with. The last information sent expressed that the building was named Holland House but there was absolutely no mention about Sundays. Due to this it was difficult to find on Google maps and has to help others find the hotel. On arrival the atmosphere wasn't the most welcoming and the at reception there was no welcome. When asking if there was any parking available the receptionist dealing with my party "went to check". They stood in the back office for up to 5-10 minutes and came back and said it doesn't look like it but feel free to check. When enquiring around disabled parking we had the same response. We were also asked very quickly around if we wanted breakfast using price as selling point but was offered no information around this. It was very hard to find room due to unclear signage and it was down a dead end in-between all the lifts. Bedroom was spacious, clean and had expected items such as tea and coffee. On welcoming paperwork WiFi information was completely wrong stating "Mecure" but this wasn't even an option. Overall felt as if there has been lots of recent changes but the key basic things had been missed which impacted our experience.

Don’t book No heating. Bed sheets and towels were threadbare. We’ve booked double and we were put in a twin. The curtains weren’t wide enough so the light was coming in from outside. Phone in the room didn’t work. Reception well aware and couldn’t care less.

DO NOT STAY HERE! DO NOT STAY HERE! We had a horrendous experience including stained slippers and towels, rude and incompetent staff, excessive parking charges and overall a very disappointing experience. We then complained and gave feedback to which we were ignored for several days on email and were only give a 10% refund for our awful experience. Overall, so not worth it! Do not waste your time nor your money!

Broken heating expensive car parking My husband and I stayed here for a weekend in February. The hotel itself is well positioned to access the town and is bright and welcoming once inside. The gym is free to use however the swimming pool is £10 per person. When checking in, the gentleman wasn't particularly pleasant or friendly (just a smile goes a long way) we were advised the the car parking was £24 per night. Alternative parking wasn't an option for us as my husband is disabled. Our room was clean however in rapid need of modernisation. The TV remote had the back missing and the buttons had rubbed off, we could only get a handful of channels. The was a fridge which is always a bonus however the next morning, when the milk I bought was at room temperature I mentioned this to reception. The lady advised that it was a cooler and not a fridge. The room itself was cold, we turned the heating up before we went out, on our return it was evident that it was faulty / broken. We advised reception (the same gentleman) who didn't appear shocked at this but brought us a portable heater up and advised that maintenance would look at it the following day. This didn't happen. Overall I'd be reluctant to stay here again

Spa day experience Front of house offered poor customer service, made us feel like an inconvenience with a pretentious and 'couldn't care less' demeanour. We dutifully paid for parking for the duration of our spa experience - only to receive a £100 charge a week later as it had not been processed correctly at the front desk. At the spa entrance we were booked in by a poorly presented man who also couldnt ' care less'. He issued us with very 'tired' looking gowns and towels. No slippers. The treatment itself was very pleasant and the masseuse was skilful and professional. The pool however, was in very poor condition - to the point of dangerous, with areas taped off and large holes at the poolside. The afternoon tea was pleasant enough - the female staff member at the bar/restaurant was very friendly and helpful, the gentleman however, clearly resented our presence. All in all a thoroughly disappointing experience and I am very grateful I didn't pay for an overnight stay.
