Lovely Stay Location is superb right next to Cathedral and town centre. Hotel is dated but has a lovely open and friendly atmosphere. Food was really great. If staying ask for the Cathedral side as the street outside our room was really noisy during the night. If staying more than one night the hotel would have changed the room. There is paid parking at the hotel. Overall a really lovely stay.

absolute nightmare booked via OYO Hotels and an absolute scam. I tried to amend a reservation and cannot log back in as system tells me I logged in too many times as if I have a certain amount of login ins. The website gives two numbers which when you call they are in India and tell you to call teh other number. I eventually got the hotel reception which tells me I have o do it and I can't. I was given an email address which does not accept incoming mail !!!! I was warned that I ill be charged nevertheless although with my rights to amend or cancel. I will refer this to Trading Standards immediately I am cancelling all as I am too afraid to go there !

Avoid this Hotel, Ceiling leaked into the bathroom and flooded floor. Booked a Premium Room in the Hotel (room 205 was given to us). Paid an additional £20 to gain access to the room early at 12:00. Couldn’t get parked in the Hotel Car Park, this stated on their website, so we were prepared for this. They say to use the Colebrook car park opposite the hotel. The Colebrook car park is small and doesn’t have many spaces, so be aware of this. I would suggest to do the park and ride! We drove around the Colebrook car park for 15mins until a space became available. The Winchester are has poor mobile network coverage so the Ringo App would not connect, there is a machine but it doesn’t give you a ticket once paid (even though it states to display a ticket?!?). So, after eventually getting parked we just wanted to relax in the room. On entering the room ww wanted to freshen up in the bathroom and was greeted by a flooded floor. Called reception and they said they would send housekeeping up to clean and dry the floor. So we decided to go out and come back to the room later to let housekeeping to do their thing. When we returned to the room later the floor was dry and seemed fine. The whole hotel and rooms are in dire need of a makeover and poorly maintained. So we weren’t very impressed, as it’s not a cheap hotel to stay in. The view from the room was about the best thing as it overlooked the Cathedral. When we returned back to our room after our evening out we noticed a few drips of water on the floor, we decided to just wipe it up and go to sleep. We were woken up the next morning at 6am by a steady dripping noise coming from the bathroom, there was a plastic vent in the ceiling which had water steadily dripping out of it, someone had clearly tried to stop the leak by stuffing what appeared to be a blue flannel and toilet tissue, the plaster around the vent was now crumbling away and the vent looked like it could fall out any minute. Ww out the waste bin under the leak got ready to check out and called reception to ask for the manager to visit the room. The said we would have to speak to the manger (Anthony) when we checked out at the desk. Another problem was a piece of red plastic that was stuck to the quilt that scratched my wife’s leg in the night, we discovered it the next morning when we made the bed. Anthony said he seen the port of flooring in the bathroom and that it had been fixed by their maintenance team, I explained that stuffing a blue flannel and tissue is not a fix. I also pointed out that the leak may have severely damaged the ceiling area and could potentially collapse. I also told them that there was clear evidence that this problem had happened before because you could see the previous plaster patching and peeling wallpaper in the bedroom where pipe work must’ve ran and leaked before, most of the wooden furniture in the room had water damage. When I pointed this out Anthony admitted they’d had a previous situation 2yrs before. We were given a small refund on the room as compensation. I will never return to this hotel again, unless it has a complete refurb. It really is in quite poor condition throughout.
