Winchester: Classic Double Room for 2 with Breakfast, Late Check-Out, Optional Dinner 4* Winchester Wessex Hotel

Excellent Location Easy to find right in the centre of Winchester, right next door to the cathedral, and one street away from the main drag. There's (£15 per 24 hours) parking available on site, on a first come basis. The entry and the spaces are quite tight. Inside there's a large lobby, dining room and bar. Rooms are on two floors in a large, long block. Our room was large and comfortable, well-appointed, with wifi and a reasonable bathroom. Large comfy bed. Good night's sleep. Recommended and would book again.

Perfect central hotel We had a truly wonderful stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The location is absolutely fantastic — perfectly situated with stunning views of the beautiful cathedral right from our room. Waking up to such an iconic view each morning was a real highlight of our trip. The accommodation itself was beautiful — tastefully decorated, spotless, and very comfortable. It felt both luxurious and welcoming, making it easy to relax after a day of exploring. The staff were exceptionally polite and helpful throughout our stay, always greeting us with a smile and happy to assist with anything we needed. Another big plus was the convenience of on-site parking, which is payable at reception. It made our visit completely stress-free. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a charming hotel in a perfect location.

Beware of Sunday hotels customer service and cancellations I made a reservation for August 2026 thru their direct site last fall. The reservation conditions allow cancellation up to the day before check in. I have tried for a month to cancel this reservation through their site. Unfortunately, the site will not allow cancellation and asks you to call a phone number. This number, when dialed, gives an ‘unable to complete as dialed’ message. I have tried chat as well and it is just a bot that tells you to call the same number and it, again, does not go through. You simply can not cancel online. I then sent an email to their main reservations address and got no response, despite it being sent a month ago. I finally used the emails ( main reservations and front manager) provided in various hotel review responses posted here. I sent three emails before the front manager responded and said he followed up with the main reservations area to ask them to process the cancellation. Now, three days later, I still have no cancellation confirmation. I give up. I sent a final email saying I consider the reservation cancelled and any attempts to charge me in August will result in a dispute. Be warned. Read how many reviews reference this issue. Book at your own risk. No one should have to put in the effort I did to do a simple cancellation well in advance of the date. I fully anticipate needing to dispute a charge in August given how I have been treated so far.

absolute nightmare booked via OYO Hotels and an absolute scam. I tried to amend a reservation and cannot log back in as system tells me I logged in too many times as if I have a certain amount of login ins. The website gives two numbers which when you call they are in India and tell you to call teh other number. I eventually got the hotel reception which tells me I have o do it and I can't. I was given an email address which does not accept incoming mail !!!! I was warned that I ill be charged nevertheless although with my rights to amend or cancel. I will refer this to Trading Standards immediately I am cancelling all as I am too afraid to go there !

In need of total revamp Very outdated and needs revamping, The room was pretty tired and like taking a trip back in time to the 80s , breakfast was very poor and not worth getting as very close to town so worth going out for breakfast
