Afternoon tea at Penkforton Castle This is a beautiful castle and is stunning inside, the staff at reception were very helpful, and friendly. They let me send them the voucher by email to them that we got as a gift, for reception to print, however I luckily checked before we left, if they had receipt it but they hadn't as the email has to be done in lower case not half Upper as the young lad said on afternoon tea duty. The young man who was doing the afternoon tea service was on his own, and very busy. He asked us if we wanted a drink to start with which we ordered a blackcurrant and lemonade, and a ginger beer. The afternoon tea came out well presented, the sandwiches felt slightly stale, wouldn't say they were freshly made. Another gripe is there were 5 small cakes on the top, and we had to cut them in half for us both to be able to try them. I think there should of been say 2 or 3 of the same each. We did have to ask for our tea though, after our cakes had arrived, which was promptly brought but not asked which tea we wanted. I am disabled, and did struggle to get to the ladies, which doesn't have a disabled toilet in it, but they were beautiful. Overall an enjoyable experience and would consider going again, if it was bought me!.

Special experience. Special place. Gifted by family. From Check-in to Check-out, wonderful experience. Room was fab, (Broxton)...in the Tower _). Had pre-booked the 9 Course Tasting Menu. Fabulous! 3 hours of superb culinary delights. Booking again soon. Highly Recommended.

If you have a disability it’s not the best location. Food disappointing. Lack of signage for any disabled parking. The promise of an Afternoon Tea in such a lovely location didn’t match the expectation. The dining area was fairly small. The bread for the sandwiches wasn’t particularly fresh and there was a lot of fat on the beef in particular. The cakes too were nothing to write home about and were disappointing. The scones were lovely and I enjoyed them. I suppose the imposing magnificent castle promised more. Such a shame.
