Staff that Shine and Beyond Comfortable A wonderful hotel. While everything is wonderful it ithe staff that really make it. I have travelled much but here is where I meet the most genuine and friendly staff. Adam and Katelyn are just wonderful. Genuine, friendly and helpdul. You get the feeling their help comes from the heart, not from a script. Just wonderful. The rooms are edged with peace. Spacious and comfortable. The bar and lounge area is comfortable an ideal place to unwind. The hotel nestles next to the downs providing a wonderful wider dimension. A truly magnificent time. Great for unwinding and the staff are a major part of this. Thank you.

Come on guys get this sorted we love the hotel I hope they fix this place it was a great hotel when we last stayed . Food was so disappointing I will be ordering a delivery if I go back Staff are all amazing and helpful We had an issue with food it was dealt with so I do appreciate that and it’s been reflecting by giving 4 stars not 1 Hotel cleaning and maintenance . Definitely not what it used to be . Cleaning the windows for instance . The inside was awful . Scuffs on the wall need painting . This review is supposed to be constructive not an attack . Please save this place it’s in the gutter . So sad . Shouldn’t have to pay for parking in a remote location . How are we supposed to get there ? Money making scheme . Infuriating if you want people to stay don’t penalise them for staying . I understand the hotel has been taken over but the old staff that were there in the hotels better years could definitely help the new owner bring this place back to how it needs to be or no one is going to return to this lovely otherwise space . I’ll give it one more go as my complaint was dealt with . However I don’t go away for a treat weekend to complain . Please fix this . It’s going in the wrong direction . Food quality and spend on maintenance is essential if you want customers I wish you good luck

Give this place a miss We stayed here for two nights on an Ogdens Mystrey Tour. The tour lived up to its theme, it was a great mystrey how this hotel has a four star rating. The building has a very nice pleasance on the outside. Check in was quick and efficient and we were in our 204 room. Second floor, no lift. The room was adequate for our needs with the usual amenities. Unfortunately everything went down hill with the food in the restaurant. Dinner sitting was at 7.00pm and we were still eating St 9.00pm. The food was very poor was just describable as warm, no hot plates. The starters were cold the main courses cold. Both evening meals were of the same pathetic serving, not hot. We complained to the restaurant supervisor who him self did the serving. There is the problem, fourty seven people waiting for their meals. The staff doing this, the male supervisor, another female supervisor and a young man, who probably went to school on the Monday. There wasnt even any tea or coffee after the two hour dining experience This place, acquired by a Indian company in February has no staff. The breakfasts were similar very poor. I asked to speak to the owner and was told he was in India. This was to complain, about an elderly lady passenger on the coach was given a camp bed to sleep on ridiculous doesn't cover the incompetent Iin the running of this place. I certainly can't recommend staying at this hotel, and infact if the owners don't get their act together , again the hotel will fold and close down

Beautiful grounds A nice hotel in a great location, lovely grounds and decent rooms. It's advertised as being self check-in, but when we arrived there was a fully staffed reception. The bar area and food were great and I have no hesitation in recommending this place.

Unfortunately filthy Our first room had blood stains on the net curtain. We were moved, but the second room was filthy – stained toilet and bidet, thick dust, and even an empty vodka bottle in the wardrobe. Despite speaking to the duty manager, no housekeeper ever arrived. Breakfast was also poor. The food was lukewarm and had to be microwaved. Water was leaking from the ceiling near the restaurant, and staff ignored us when we raised concerns. The hotel overall feels dirty and poorly maintained: mouldy skirting boards, water-damaged walls, sections of ceiling falling, and a loud extractor fan in the bathroom.
