Unpleasant Stay. We were aware that the hotel was undergoing works, however we were shocked at the state of the place. Reception was appalling, we literally had to clamber over people sitting on the floor in the temporary lobby, we were told we had been given a free upgrade which when entering the room was most definitely not the case, my husband had booked a suite with bath and the room we were allocated was extremely basic, after complaining we were moved to another basic room which did have a bath in the tiniest bathroom. As others have said, the room was so hot it was unbearable. Breakfast was no better than eating in a cheap canteen, it was unpleasant and on our second and last morning we didn’t even bother with it. Would we stay again- location was great but absolutely not, it was horrible.

Rough Hard to believe that this hotel has the reviews it has. Undergoing major renovations. The rooms are shabby at best. Extremely dated with damaged/stained furniture, chipped paintwork and exposed wiring. Bed is not comfortable. Location is convenient but that’s about it. Gym area looked cold and lame and I think I’d rather swim in the Thames than the pool. Very disappointed, won’t be back

Catastrophic experience in a supreme London location Location is superb. Here it stops: hotel’s reception and lobbyists at renovations- we were not told about . The room we were assigned to had almost no storage facilities for a5 night stay. The-room is old full of wear and tear. Bathroom?- fits a hotel in the 50’s. Walls are “decorated” with dark green oil sticky paint. Wewere offered an upgrade for 100 pounds per night: room bigger. Told us they’d provide a drawer case: did not. No room in the website resembled the catastropy offered to us. Lost our money- since prepaid. Moved to another hotel the next day. Just keep away from this joint if you wish to enjoy your trip. A hotel that exceeds your wildest expectations I have stayed at the Dilly a number of times now and it’s simply not sufficient to say “it doesn’t disappoint”, the reality is each stay is ALWAYS better than the last. The attention to detail from the world class team makes you feel that little bit more special from the moment you walk into the hotel. This isn’t just somewhere to sleep, it’s an experience in an historic building that combines the past with modern day luxury. The rooms are well maintained, spotlessly clean, as is the rest of the hotel and it reflects the pride of the team that work here in every part of what they do. The Dilly goes beyond the extra mile to ensure you have an amazing stay and you find little treats and surprises everywhere during your time in the hotel. This is my go-to place when I am in London and every time I go back it feels a little more like home. In short - there is no comparison in Central London for the hospitality and value for money. Well done to the team - this is an exceptional place and I can’t wait to be back again!
