It is a very nice hotel on the edge of Dundee and very easy to find. The staff were welcoming and attentive. The two course meal was enjoyable. On the website and on the Groupon deal it says that dogs can stay … but this is not the case. I had already bought the Groupon deal and booked our night away before finding this out. All in all this deal is worth the money.

Disgusting behaviour . My family had arranged a wake at this hotel for a party of 50 this morning and it was nothing more than disgusting with how we’re treated . After we had all arrived to a very nice sitting arrangement in the conservatory area we were waiting about for our prearranged food . After 20 mins with no service coming and no one to speak to we were beginning to get anxious and wanting some sort of communication . We eventually got hold of Darren the restaurant manager who done absolutely nothing to make our uncomfortable scenario better saying it would take a bit of time to get our food out to as they had “some issues” Short story - after a lot of very poor communication from Darren and his team our guests were left sitting and waiting for almost two hours with no food . In the meantime he was flogging us off wasting our time saying his colleague Tony was out picking up warm food for us from another location which was nowhere near the truth. We were therefore communicating this to our guests. After two hours we were told the food had arrive and we would be served. This however turned out to be a shopping bag of Tesco food - sausage rolls , cup cakes etc ( see attached picture) which they left on the buffet serving area and had then the check to say we should unpack it and serve it ourselves on the day of wake . This was just disgusting behaviour and throughout it unfolding we were just more and more shocked of how bad the situation was and how unhelpful the staff were . It’s the worst place I have ever been to DO NOT GO TO THIS DUMP EVER

Really helpful staff, great overall experience. Was staying due to proximity to Ninewells. After a last minute change, staff on site were really helpful, arranging a crib last minute and just generally being brilliant. Cheapest room was still spacious even with crib & pram. Leisure facilities look good, even though I won’t be able to use them. The value would be impossible to beat, but without compromising the quality. Also, try the Lost Orchard cider they have in the bar!

Disappointing experience – facilities unavailable, no refund or compensation I booked this hotel specifically for the spa, pool and gym facilities, which were a key part of why I chose it for a relaxing birthday weekend away. Only after booking – and only because I contacted the hotel directly – was I informed that the pool and gym would be unavailable during my stay. This was not mentioned anywhere during the booking process. Despite the facilities being a major selling point of the hotel, I was offered no refund, no partial refund, and no compensation. Instead, I was passed between the hotel and customer care with no resolution, while still being expected to go ahead with the stay and pay in full. It’s extremely disappointing that the hotel is happy to take guests’ money while being unable to provide the facilities they advertise. Transparency at the point of booking and some form of goodwill or compensation would have gone a long way, but neither was offered. I would strongly advise future guests to double-check that advertised facilities are actually available before booking, especially if those amenities are the main reason for choosing this hotel.
