Perfect Stay for Greenwich and Docklands Beautiful building all tastefully restored. Bedroom was nicely decorated. Maybe we should have asked for a room on a higher floor. We didn’t need a disabled room. Very friendly and attentive staff.

Great location We had a great trip; we were visiting to see the Hunger Games at the theatre. Great location, only a 10 min walk from Canary Wharf tube station. We are a family of four with two older teens and we had two rooms. We didn’t have a car so I cannot comment on parking and we didn’t stay for breakfast as we ate at one of the many places close by the tube station. The theatre is only a 20 min walk away. The club rooms are very cute with stairs leading up to a mezzanine floor for the bed; not for less able people as the stairs may cause concern. I could hear people coming home from their nights out but they were quick to settle so it didn’t bother us. The beds were extremely comfortable and the showers powerful and hot. The staff were great.

Very disappointing... Positive: hotel is just a couple of minutes walk from Poplar DLR which was great as we were in town to see events at Excel and ABBA arena. Negatives: Have to park on pavement to unload bags before getting car park key and driving off to car park 100+ metres away - which is actually the back of a church with a padlock that looks like it will disintegrate at any moment. Not really secure as pedestrian access possible from adjacent park. Unfriendly staff on reception - refused to deal to my wife and start check in whilst I was away parking car as registration was technically in my name. No-one else in reception waiting. Room had a sewage smell throughout which spraying aftershave could not resolve. So not a room you wanted to spend any time in. Bathroom had no heating, not even a heated towel rail, so like an ice box and towels always damp. Breakfast was terrible - coffee machine not working, sliced bread still frozen, cheap orange juice, no marmalade (disinterested waitress had not even heard of marmalade even after I explained!) etc. Breakfast so bad we didn't bother on the day we left and ate at a motorway services on our way home even though we had paid for breakfast. Overall very disappointing. We had expected a pleasant stay but ended up regretting we hadn't just booked into a Premier Inn and saved ourselves a lot of money!

The Lansbury Hotel My initial feeling about this hotel was that it was once looked after & now was taken over by people that was not experienced in hospitality customer service & cleanliness! I wouldn’t stay again down to this issue. The carpet was dirty & the bedside table was covered in dust! On a plus side the breakfast was very good! Beware of parking your car nearby as when we walked to the train station we saw one with a smashed car window! The actual building is beautiful, but just let down by the people that own it!
