This is the place to stay. If you are staying in or near Ripley, Woking, England I would definitely recommend the Talbot Inn Hotel. It is not only a quaint hotel with comfortable rooms and a delightful restaurant, but the people are the most thoughtful and accommodating to your every need. My wife and I have returned 5 or 6 times and always come away feeling exceptionally treated. From front desk and wait staff to housekeeping, your every need is anticipated. This is the place to stay.

Sad Outcome for Special Meal for Visiting Family We were disappointed by our recent visit to The Talbot in Ripley. Initially, everything looked great - we were in a side room with only one other table. Fabulous room, comfy seating & lots of history. But we discovered it was an "out of sight, out of mind" situation. We had to go & find a staff member to order our drinks, food & afternoon tea. The food was great! Best scones I've had in a long time. Cakes & sandwiches were also very tasty. No staff were sighted during our time having afternoon tea & we couldn't order more drinks. Our biggest issues arose around our bill. We had to go & find a member of staff (again) to get the bill The 2 menus on the table had conflicting prices, and we were charged the higher price. We questioned some charges, & had to get the bill updated. Overall, our experience was a 3, Food was a 4.

Baby Shower Recently had my sister baby shower at The Talbot Inn. we had the Emma's Lounge area and it was lovely. The staff were helpfully and help me and my mother with setting up the room. special call out to Nick at reception who helped me and my mum decorating the room for my sister and Emma from restaurant who was very helpful during the whole event. The food was good and no issues for the other guests. I have read other review complaining of the parking but I understand why they have had to put parking camera's in. Also call out to Krystyna who helped organise and book the baby shower.

Stayed in better Travelodge's Not sure how this has four stars as it certainly does not feel like four stars. Most of the rooms are in a separate block out the back of the main building and they feel and look like a Travelodge/Premier Inn. Very basic and shabby, tea making facilities consisted of two mugs and a wooden stick, a couple of tea bags and two coffee sachets, not even a proper spoon to stir it. The breakfast was mediocre at best, all self service except for the cooked breakfast, everything was cheap and low quality, the bread was the thinnest cheapest sliced loaf and the toaster was a small plastic domestic model which took ages to toast. The cooked breakfast was very poor quality, we asked for poached eggs but they were basically hard boiled, the beans were in a very runny thin sauce and everything else was the cheapest poorest quality food. The second morning it was all buffet so no choice of eggs and again everything was overcooked and poor quality. You can get a much better breakfast for half the price in a local cafe. The dining room was dirty with food on the floor and chairs, and the tables were sticky. The staff are mostly very young and were more interested in a box of chocolates than serving us at the bar in the evening. When we asked if they had bottles of coke (I don't like the pump stuff) we got a short and curt 'Nope' no offer of an alternative or a sorry. Very disappointing stay and would not recommend especially as they also charge £10 a day to park there. If you have to stay there, there is a free carpark across the road but they won't tell you this !
