The Hotel

Few lodging accommodations have the elite privilege of being able to boast existence from the 12th century, yet Thurnham Hall has earned this distinguished honor. Standing proudly on the grounds of a nearly 30-acre estate, the castle style architecture commands attention and respect. You know from the moment you arrive on the property of Thurnham Hall, you are among the most regal and classic, yet modern, of accommodations.

Thurnham Hall has mastered the art of honoring the history of the estate and surrounding area, while slipping with ease and comfort into modern times. From the outside, you have classic English architecture from the old world, yet on the inside you could be in the classiest of new, urban hotel suites. Boasting an elegant Jacobean Great Hall, the resort has the look and feel of what you hope to experience of historic and majestic historic English, without sacrificing any modern day amenities.

You can expect your resort style accommodations to have everything you need. These deluxe and divine rooms are fully equipped with the items you would need and use in your very own home. Your choice will be whether to stay in the main house with its more traditional flavor, or at the Thurnham Hall Tarnbrook, where the courtyard retreats are complete with modern touches. Either way, you will enjoy a quiet retreat on this grand medieval-style estate. Even those with little enthusiasm for architecture will marvel at the different styles of structural buildings housed on the estate grounds at Thurnham Hall.

The leisure center at Thurnham Hall hosts a large swimming pool. Soak all your troubles away by relaxing in the hot tub, while admiring grand, panoramic views of the rolling, green countryside for which this area of England is famous. You can also make use of the extensive, state-of-the-art exercise equipment in the fitness area. You can even enjoy meals at the eatery; a restaurant serving both fine and casual dining options.

It is all very fitting to be within the Lancaster area, now known as "an historic city with a modern twist". In this area, you will find plenty of shopping, dining, browsing and entertainment options. It all just depends on what you like to see and do, but rest assured, there is plenty there for everyone. After a day of exploring the city, you'll love being able to call Thurnham Hall your home.

Fabulous stay, Fabulous grounds We stayed in the one bedroom apartment in the courtyard. The apartment was excellent and the cleaning standards were high. Entering the apartment up a small staircase we was welcomed by a closed hallway leading into an open plan lounge, kitchen diner. Immaculate!!! Of the lounge was a door to bathroom again Immaculate and a small set of stair leading to a double bedroom. Windows overlooking green fields and spotting squirrels. 10/10 for the apartment. Now the Hall itself and the grounds. Absolutely beautiful, grand in appearance and on entering the hall a beautiful fireplace leading to The Lemon Tree restaurant. Prices very good. Beautiful historical building. The health suite with gym, pool, sauna and jacuzzi were very clean and warm, infact toasty and relaxing. The grounds were well kept and the staff were all so friendly and welcoming. Would jump at the chance of staying again.

A really lovely resort Excellent standard of accommodation and cleanliness with a lovely leisure centre and bar/restaurant areas. What’s not to like. We stayed in Wyre apartment and found it to be very comfortable, well equipped and maintained. Staff are all very friendly and helpful too.

Restful getaway. Our two night stay started be meeting Dan at reception. So friendly and welcoming! We stayed in a two bedroomed apartment. Very warm and spacious with a large kitchen, dining and relaxing area. Lovely views over the garden and a table outside for warmer weather. The beds were very comfortable and showers great. Everything was spotlessly clean. The restaurant was not open at the time due to refurbishment, though it has now reopened. We thoroughly enjoyed a Wednesday night wine tasting with Alberto. Beautiful wines from his family vineyards in Italy. Sauna, gym and pool were all very good. Thank you xx
