The peaceful village of Winteringham offers a chance for guests to stretch their legs on leisurely walks, while those with cars can reach Scunthorpe within 17 minutes. Alternatively, visitors can head across the Humber Bridge to Hull, where sights include the Maritime Museum, The Deep aquarium and Wilberforce House, the former house of William Wilberforce, the famous campaigner against the slave trade.

• Contemporary décor features in every bedroom, alongside en suite facilities, comfortable furnishings and essential toiletries. Each of the rooms also includes a large flat-screen TV and tea and coffee making facilities, ensuring guests can feel as relaxed as possible.

• Award-winning chef Colin McGurran, who featured in the BBC’s Great British Menu, cooks up a treat in the on-site restaurant which prominently features local produce. Each guest will settle down for a seven-course tasting menu (usually £69 each) during their stay.

• As well as catering for private dining and corporate events, tips can also be picked up during Colin’s cookery masterclass demonstrations.
