Halle Orchestra

See the Halle Orchestra play live at Tatton Park this August. First established in 1858 by Sir Charles Halle, the orchestra has since performed under the likes of Hans Richter, Sir Hamilton Harty and Sir John Barbirolli. While Manchester’s Free Trade Hall was their home for many years, aside from concert series played in the Albert Hall and Kings Hall Belle Vue during the war period, the orchestra moved into their new home at Bridgewater Hall in June 1996. With Sir Mark Elder as musical director, a post he has held since 2000, the group also supports a choir, youth training choir, children’s choir and youth orchestra, and releases recordings on its own record label. One, two or four people will be able to catch their open-air picnic concert this August, complete with a spectacular fireworks finale.
