A hearty menu of traditional British fare awaits diners at Birmingham’s Tap & Smile. The list of main courses on offer features bangers and mash (usually £8.50), steak and ale pie, fish and chips, and a crispy oven-baked chicken breast prepared in bread crumbs and served with salad and hand-cut chips (all £9.95). The Merchant

Situated on the canal and dating back to 1821, the recently refurbished Tap & Spile offers Birmingham residents and visitors a traditional English pub experience. A selection of traditional ales are served along with a full ‘pub grub’ menu consisting of starters, street food, hand-made stone-baked pizzas, pub favourites, hand-made burgers, sides and desserts. Booking in advance can help to secure a canal-side table, offering a glimpse into the more relaxed pace of life maintained on the city’s waterways.
