About The Household Cavalry Museum
The Household Cavalry Museum is not just a glimpse of the past; it is also a living and breathing museum, showing real people doing real jobs. Visitors can see the troopers of the two senior regiments of the British Army that make up the Household Cavalry as they work, caring for their horses and mounting the guard. As well as this largely ceremonial duty, the Household Cavalry are also deployed in active service, which visitors to the museum can learn about. The museum is housed in Horse Guards, a historic building in central London, within Whitehall. The Household Division's headquarters dates back to 1750, making for a suitable setting to learn about such a quintessentially British institution.
