Equine enthusiasts can enjoy two hours of rural roaming in the saddle, led by a guide from Wern Trekking and Riding Centre. Held in groups of no more than six, the two-hour sessions begin with a briefing or refresher on the basics of riding and the relevant safety considerations. Novices can then take part in a trek through the countryside, going at a fairly relaxed pace with only the occasional spot of trotting (usually £35). Alternatively, those with more experience can head off on a hack, which crosses more challenging terrain and includes more trotting and cantering (£45).
Choose from the following options for a two-hour horse trek or hack:
£18 for one person (Up to 60% off)
£36 for two people (Up to 60% off)
Situated on the borders of the Brecon Beacons, Wern Trekking and Riding Centre provides various equestrian services against a backdrop of rolling hills and verdant pastures. Wern's instructors focus their energies on small groups of customers at a time, offering treks and hacks through the countryside and lessons in the outdoor arena. The centre also provides accommodation for horses, and can supply picnics to keep customers going on a full-day ride.
