Three Courses of South Indian Cuisine Plus Sides and Nibbles for Two (£27) or Four (£54) at Coconut Lagoon (Up to 61% Off)
Although baking with relatives can be fun, the family might wonder where granny went when you serve them the naan bread. Dig in with today's Groupon from Coconut Lagoon. Choose from the following options:
• £27 for three courses of South Indian cuisine for two with nibbles and sides (Up to 60% off)• £54 for three courses of South Indian cuisine for four with nibbles and sides (Up to 61% off)
Tickling tongues with an array of spice-laden tastes and cool culinary creations, The Coconut Lagoon serves an exclusively South Indian menu filled with specialities from Kerala to Karnataka. Focusing on India's less famous dishes emphasises their breadth and variety, from the fenugreek and cinnamon-rubbed chicken to the delectable wheels of their spiced thalis.
Diners can nibble on a few papads (50p) or a couple of the spongy savoury crumpets dipped in tomato chutney (£1.50), before deciding on the composition of their three course feast. Vegetarians can tuck into the paneer roti; pan fried crispy cottage cheese with onions and tomatoes (£5.75), and follow that with a tamarind thali; a selection of Indian vegetables and chutneys served with spiced rice (£12.75). Alternatively, gastronomic mountaineers could tackle the Malabar trio; a selection of spicy tiger prawns, chilli fried chicken and cashews, and tangy chickpeas served on a banana leaf (£13.75). The Andhra Pradesh slow-cooked lamb shank could follow (£12), and diners can complement their mains with naan bread or rice and a choice of sides, which could be the lightly sautéed spinach in Keralan spices (£4.25). Desserts include a platter of South Indian fruits; a luminous display of mango, passion fruit, kiwi, and pomegranate cooling off next to a sphere of vanilla ice cream (£6.25).
Reviews
Coconut Lagoon received a tasty 3.5/5 from TripAdvisors. While some opinions have varied on the décor, diners have complimented the authentic cuisine and the quality of the service.
It was my first visit to this restaurant I have wanted to go for a long time and I was not dissapointed [sic] beautifully presented food in a great setting. Totally new experience in Indian food. Very authentic, & good quality ingredients.

I am always a little wary of Indian food as much of it is too hot for me. However, the food at the Coconut Lagoon was perfect. There was plenty of help to make sure you chose [sic] the best dish for your taste and advice on what would go best with it. I had a lamb dish that was spicy but not a hot flavour which was absolutely wonderful.
