About The Real Mary King's Close

This particular close was named after prominent businesswoman Mary King, a widow and a mother of four, who traded in fabrics and sewed for a living. Visitors will explore the hidden network of streets escorted by costumed character tour guides, who'll bring the setting to life and spin tales of plague, crime and intrigue. Set within the attraction and in the historic setting of the Burgh Courtroom, The Royal Exchange Coffee House serves up coffee, and a selection of light and hearty dishes prepared freshly from local produce.
