Nice afternoon tea with a good selection of sandwiches and sweets. Clean, well presented and good value for money.

AVOID AVOID AVOID. The service was appalling. My husband and I tried to call over 20 times one morning to book the afternoon tea. The phone just rang and rang. Exasperated, I sent a message via Facebook outlining the above. I had a response asking for my phone number and was told I’d be called back as soon as possible. Over two hours later we got a call (no apology but we made the booking). The afternoon tea itself was pathetic. The food was ok but there was so little of it. The “cakes” were the most ridiculous things I’ve ever seen. I am not exaggerating when I say they were smaller than a 2p coin. And there were 2 of these “cakes” for my husband and I to share. I am mortified that I bought another afternoon tea at Durker Roods as a gift. I am going to tell my friend not to use it! The only positive I have to offer is that the young man serving on was friendly and polite.

There was a lack of attention from the one and only member of staff in the dining room. We had to ask for extra tea from the reception desk. The afternoon tea did not feel like a special treat.

Its a lovely house but fading a bit. Crockery trying to be "afternoon tea" but my friends cup was cracked but changed with no probs. Cakes nice, and small fresh scones very good.

Glad we didnt pay full price for afternoon tea very disappointing - however, at the Groupon offer price it was reasonable. The hotel floors weren't very clean either.

When we arrived our 1st impression was rubbish including a old cat food tin opposite the reception, tab ends outside reception steps. China cups and tea/coffee pots spouts stained

The food was awful, dry hard bread, fillings were soggy and cheap pre.packed meat. The desserts were equally as bad, tasteless soggy and dry. Only good thing the scone was warm.

We have been for meals before and really enjoyed them. This time the afternoon tea bought as a present for grandparents and was very disappointing. Although staff were polite, service was poor and the actual afternoon tea was not up to standard. Table not set, one small tea pot for four, 30 minute wait for stale sandwiches and although rectified it just spoilt the event.
