The Forge in Slindon is a community-owned establishment that combines a cafe, a shop and information centre. A cross between a convenience store, a deli and a farm shop, it stocks a range of food and grocery products, everyday essentials and newspapers. Boasting free Wi-Fi and using locally sourced produce, the cafe serves up breakfasts, light lunches and a selection of snacks, cakes and beverages, from coffee and tea to wines and beers. The information point offers information about the area including the South Downs National Park, and The Forge has cooperated with the National Trust to put together four local paths of different lengths for walkers to enjoy the beauty of the West Sussex countryside.
The afternoon tea was amazing. This was our second visit to the Forge. The homemade cakes are delicious. The staff are great and friendly.

Great afternoon tea. The staff are really nice.
The choice of cakes & sandwiches are amazing. Very friendly staff where nothing is too much trouble. Dog friendly. Lovely village shop attached & a lovely outdoor seating area
Absolutely lovely small cafe, the staff are so friendly & helpful. The food is lovely, all freshly prepared, there is a huge selection of fresh cakes to suit all tastes & you get a healthy piece! A tasty warm scone and of course strawberry jam & clotted cream. The best afternoon cream tea I’ve had. You’re not rushed, we spent nearly 3 hours there enjoying our food & chatting. The bonus is you can take your dog in too! Excellent all round.
Lovely food, great staff. Looking forward to a return visit.
