From Our Editors

Shaka Zulu is located in the heart of the Camden Stables Market with a large mezzanine style decked out in wooden murals, giving a taste of African art. The restaurant is educating London palates on the flavours of South Africa, from traditional braai food to potjies and native meats such as springbok and wildebeest. Blessed by the Zulu King HRH Goodwill Zwelithini when it opened its doors in 2010, the venue offers an atmospheric place with live music, African dancers and entertainment.

It tricks you into thinking you can have the 30 day aged steak as part of the deal and you can't without paying 6 pounds on top...plus 5 pounds for the veg...EACH! It was very disappointing to have this on top :(

2 for 1 cocktails from 6 to 7 pm at the bar were good . Choice of food and cocktail on the Groupon menu was very good - meat or fish or vegetarian . Had lovely spicey prawns to start then fish then some delicious chocolate dessert . Surroundings amazing

I am not recommending this offer, and not the restaurant, solely because Groupon have falsely advertised this product - they say: Selection of starters may include: crocodile cigars | game and ostrich terrine | heirloom tomato soup | Cape Malay king prawn cocktail Selection of mains may include: 35-day aged rare breed beef sirloin steak | ras el hanout spit-roasted pork | masala-roasted spatchcock chicken | vegetable potjie | grilled salmon | pan-fried baby squid Selection of desserts may include: dark chocolate tart | passion fruit cheesecake | ice cream | melktert Barely any of the above options are included on the set menu you are given on arrival, for booking through Groupon. The menu is very limited and you have to pay for the sides - we ordered the spatchcock chicken and if we didn't order chips, it literally would have just been a bit of chicken on a plate. I've been to Shaka Zulu without the Groupon and the choice and quality of the food is much better, albeit slightly more expensive, but a much better option. If Groupon had advertised correctly, instead of leading me to believe I could have crocodile cigars for starters and squid or salmon for my main, I may have decided just to head to the restaurant and pay slightly more for their main menu. I am quite disappointed actually that the page doesn't display the correct menu, which is the Taste of Africa menu (http://www.shaka-zulu.com/restaurant/taste-of-africa-menu)

Service was not good. We were just left to it. The waitress would come to our table and just take things away with out asking or saying anything. When you buy the deal from Groupon it says you can choose from ..... but when you arrive there you are given a different menu with a fraction of the choices that are on the main menu. This is very misleading!
