We really enjoyed our pie making evening. All the staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Easy to follow instructions for people of all abilities. Good value for money. You are on your feet for the whole experience including the slide show and talk so make sure to wear warm comfortable footwear. Chairs would have been nice for the talk rather than having to stand.

Great for all ages to attend and learn about the Brocklebys company, the environment they work with and you get to make your own pork pie too. Only suggestion would be to have some chairs for the video section as standing in a cool room makes your back ache and quiet a few attendees were having aching backs at the end.

Overall it was an okay evening but not as good as expected. When you are looking for it - you need to follow signs to the garden centre. It's not clearly signed at all and down a very dark lane! The tour is minimal - they didn't explain what the equipment or processes which was a shame. The 'factory' is one room so not much to tour round so don't expect that. Good demonstration of how to make hot water crust pastry. Pie making itself was good but very basic. We had fun! There were 40 of us split into 2 groups - whilst 20 of us made pies the other 20 were given a presentation. Interesting but went on for far too long. Could easily have been done in half the time. Standing for that so not particularly comfortable! At the end of the night we were able to get pies as part of an offer. Unfortunately no pork pies available which was disappointing. Only tasting was a little bit of the Wild Deer pie - again disappointing.
