From Our Editors

Peckforton Castle is a medieval-style structure commissioned by John Tollemache and completed in 1851. Nowadays, this Grade I-listed building offers dining and accommodation, as well as access to leisure facilities and beauty treatments. Visitors are also welcome to partake in an array of outdoor activities including archery, laser clay shooting, mountain biking and falconry. The venue can be hired to host wedding receptions and breakfasts, while its sandstone walls and marble floors make for vibrant photo opportunities.

The sandwiches were extremely fresh and tasty and so was the scone. Wasn’t too keen on the other sweet items, they were very small and quite tasteless.

Lovely sandwiches, cakes let down with the tea/coffee. Considering the setting it would be a better afternoon tea experience if you could have different types of tea and coffee. Proper tea leaves used not tea bags. The tea was quite strong when bought to the table we asked for a pot of hot water but this never happened.

Really poor service, embarrassed me in front of the all of the customers saying I hadn't booked and left me standing there. When I showed them the booking on my phone they blamed groupon but ag no point were they helpful or accommodating. Food was ok but not as good as expected, I have had better kn a backstreet cafe and would definitely not pay the full price for this.
