The Show
Familiar anthems abound as the founding members of UB40 take to the stage at the 300-acre UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kew Gardens for this open-air show. The band formed in 1978 in Birmingham and soon attracted attention for its unique blend of reggae and pop. Although the original line-up disbanded in 2008, the group’s founding singer Ali Campbell reunited with vocalist Astro and keyboardist Mickey Virtue in 2014 to record Silhouette, a new collection of songs inspired by the band’s distinctive sound. Audience members can expect to hear new tunes as well as the classics which made UB40 famous, such as ‘Red, Red Wine’, ‘Rat In Mi Kitchen’ and many other enduring hits.
