From Our Editors

First opened in Soho in 1926, Patisserie Valerie follows artisan baking traditions brought to London by Belgian-born Madam Valerie whose mission was to introduce continental patisserie to the English. Now boasting over 120 multiple venues nationwide, the company adorns its cafes with a 1950s-inspired decor and serves up an array of freshly-made cakes, craft patisseries, breakfasts, lunches, coffees and loose leaf teas. Their specialties include meticulously crafted croissants and viennoiseries, as well as homemade Italian-style gelato ice cream.

We went for the brunch deal - save your cash and eat elsewhere, We arrived around 10 one morning the place was very quiet. There was a sign which said wait to be seated. We waited at the sign while 2 staff members were busy looking at their mobile phones. About a minute later one of them shouted sit anywhere. So we did. The salmon ands eggs were good apparently and there looked to be a lot of salmon even at full price of £8! The full English was poor, the eggs and mushrooms were cold. The bacon was over cooked, the beans looked like they'd been in a pan for ages. Staff looked uninterested - no one came to ask how our meal was. How you can cook something so bad I don't know. Save your cash and eat at the nearby Wetherspoons - service is friendly and the food is cheaper, hot and equivalent qua

Very slow service over a twenty minute wait for the brunch . It really doesn't take that long to scramble or poach eggs . When lunch arrived just warm .Disappointing !
