Conkers is a visitor centre with outdoor and indoor attractions located in the heart of The National Forest. Customers can start their adventure in the outdoor National Forest grounds, where a miniature railway, adventure playground and treetop viewing platform await discovery among maturing woodlands and gardens. Thrill-seekers can try the assault course, and those who prefer to keep their feet firmly on the ground can opt for a sensory journey on the barefoot walk. Indoors, over 100 interactive exhibits demonstrate the workings of British woodlands over four seasonal zones. The enchanted forest play zone can capture the imagination of little ones even on a rainy day, and the simulated treetop walk transports visitors through the moving forest canopy to the mines and caves beyond. Why not experience the 4D Cinema too. A selection of eateries are on site for hungry visitors, from the casual coffee shop and kiosks to refined indoor and outdoor restaurants.
We visited on a slightly rainy day off peak. All but one of the retail outlets was open and that was so packed there was no-where to sit. When we eventually got to sit down it was time for our 4d screening which had to be pre booked and could only be changed to 3 hours later. Food was rubbish. Park itself was ok. Kids liked the train and the play area. Probably wouldn't visit again.
My grandchildren have been to Conkers 3 times now and loved it every time.
I shall buy them another voucher soon.
Not much on offer over all
Good facilities inside and out!! Lots to do win the kids if you enjoy the fresh outdoors
It's a great day out with family, especially if you have active kids at least 6 or 7 years old. We love the assault course and go back every few months (we'd go more often but we're an hour plus away). I'd rate Conkers 5 stars but it needs a bit of an upgrade outside with some if the course threadbare. Some new activities would also be great!
Plenty to do for a full day out. Great outdoor facilities. Indoor attractions could be good but many are not working properly which is a shame.
Take a picnic - cafe slow and pretty dreadful food. Overall we had a fun day out.
Providing an all year round experience means keeping everything on top form! The children enjoyed their day but several things were "tired". In the discovery centre many of the displays did not interact, the buttons were not working, the bare foot walk was dirty and there were no facilities for washing afterwards - thankfully I took a towel.
Enjoyed the day - some areas could do with an overhaul and not a lot for older kids but the littlies were happy
Enough entertainment for both our children and staff were very helpful
