India Pale Ale is a strong and malty English ale that is refined with fruity, aromatic hop varieties. IPA is the result of the finest traditional brewing expertise. Recently, it has become a flagship style for the craft beer movement. This style of beer was introduced in the middle of the 18th century by English brewers, who utilised the technique of cold hopping developed in Germany. The goal was to guarantee the shelf life of the beer during the sea journey to India by using more hops and producing a beer with a greater alcohol content. The original idea of watering down the beer to the normal alcohol content for ale was, however, not followed by the English residents in India. The beer simply tasted too good for it to be watered down again.

Brewed according to a historic recipe and refined using the finest hops and roasted oak wood – the Brewbarrel Oktoberfest style Festival Beer. We use a special type of malt, which has been malted according to an old recipe, for our Festival Beer. The Festival Beer has a higher original wort content resulting in an alcohol content of between 5.5-6.0%. To round off the character of the Festival Beer, toasted oak wood chips are added so that it tastes as if it has been matured in a wooden cask. All in the spirit of traditional brewing recipes for the Oktoberfest in Munich. The special malt gives the beer a slightly darker colour than is usually found with our Lager. The malt undergoes a special roasting process, which allows the flavours and colour to be released, and is complemented by an especially mild type of hops from selected German growing regions.

The Lager is a mild beer with a malty body. It is very lively and refreshing and has a lovely hoppy note without being too bitter. Lager beer is one of the classic beer styles. Especially in Bavaria this beer style has a long tradition and is the most favourite brew. It has a light golden colour and mild malty body with some sweetness. With its high drinkability, it’s a real all-rounder and suits to every occasion. It has a strong head and fascinates the nose with a harmony of malt and hops. The first impression is very mild with some fruity notes until the hops take over and round up this creation.
