Beverley Knight and Billy Ocean

This July the stage at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, hosts Billy Ocean and Beverley Knight. Although they come from different backgrounds, both artists have pushed the boundaries of soul and R’n’B. Billy Ocean is a Trinidadian-English singer-songwriter who grew up in London and went on to record a number of hits in the 1970s and 1980s, including When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Get Going, Caribbean Queen (No More Love on the Run) and Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car. Knight’s debut album The B-Funk was released in 1995, and she has released seven more studio albums since then. Her biggest hits include Greatest Day, Get Up!, Shoulda Woulda Coulda and Come as You Are.
