Connoisseurs in the making can spend two hours on a Friday evening with Merchant City Wine Tasting, trying some whites and reds at Fanelli's, an Italian restaurant in the heart of Merchant Square. A classically-trained wine specialist will lead the session, during which guests will learn about the art of wine tasting, and take part in some blind tasting of a variety of wines.
The Merchant
Run by Fiona Jameson, Merchant City Wine Tasting offer an introduction to wine tasting in central Glasgow. Sessions focus on four stages of wine tasting. Sight: how the wine looks in the glass and what that means. Aroma: what words to use to describe the nose or bouquet. Taste: the flavours and balance; how they feel in your mouth. Finish: what lingering flavours are left and how they develop.
