Tours (usually £6 per person) see whisky enthusiasts receive an insight into production methods at a working distillery for up to an hour. A seasoned guide leads groups through the stills and explains industry history, ingredient choices, and how batches are brought to maturation in former Madeira wine casks. Once the tour has finished, the session will conclude in smooth fashion with the chance to sample two Penderyn products.

The Merchant

Penderyn Distillery crafts an array of whiskies in a location set in the Brecon Beacons. Five different varieties of single malts are formed from ingredients that include natural Brecon Beacon-sourced water, and are kept in former madeira, sherry, port, and bourbon casks for their varied undertones. The distillery also produces its own vodka, gin and cream liqueur. Tours and tastings provide insight into the production process, while a shop stocks the site’s produce.
