Dishing up the aromas and flavours of Southeast Asia, Royal Bengal is a simmering cauldron of authentic Indian cuisine. The restaurant takes a welcome post within a city famed for its curry, situated in close proximity to the bustle of Birmingham’s Bullring, theatre district, and rail stations.
Arriving as a party of two or four, guests can begin their dining experience with a choice of starter, such as king prawn butterfly (£5.20) or barbecued garlic chicken (£3.90). A main course can then be welcomed, with diverse options including chicken tikka biriyani (£9.40), paneer tikka balti (£7.40), and lamb jalfrezi (£8.40) for those looking to heat things up a little.
Reviews
Royal Bengal has received encouraging reviews from satisfied diners, and recent customer write-ups praise the taste and authenticity of cuisine.
Went in on a Tuesday night, was recommended by the hotel staff. Very surprised by the quality of food. It was bit quiet but it was a Tuesday night. I ordered the onion bhaji starter, very nice and crispy. For main I had the king prawn jalfrezi. It was a great choice, very good food at reasonable prices given the city centre location. Had a decent selection of wine too. Next time I'm in the city I'd definitely be coming back.

My partner and I ate here on a quiet Sunday night before we were due to catch a train back to London. The food we ordered came quickly (15-20 mins) and was absolutely delicious. Good service too. Recommended.
